The Rove Story's Finally Getting Some Traction!
I love it. Olberman on MSNBC, Corn with The Nation, Newsweek, McClellan getting grilled by the White House Press Corps. Now I'm listening to NPR's reporting on it.

Last night I wrote both my Senators (Lugar and Bayh) and my Congresswoman (Julia Carson) urging them to call for Rove's termination. I don't know if it'll happen, but even our normally placid leaders are getting on the bandwagon -- Reid, Lautenberg, Waxman.

We need to keep this hot. Write your representatives and express your indignation. Rove must go!

1. Rove getting fired or quitting would be pointless, really. >
It would be like the manager of a baseball team getting the heave-ho.

I half suspect he's engineering this whole "focus on Rove" thing as a feint.

2. Actually, I Don't Think Bush Will Do It....
He doesn't fire anybody. He gives them medals.

I just want him to squirm and explain WHY he's keeping Rove.

3. I disagree. I know your feelings, but his removal (and esp. indictment)
will be important because it will show that Rove and the administration cannot be trusted. It maybe the material which will allow the public to look closer at the two parties.

Rove even likely conspired to have Plame's identity leaked (how will that read in middle America?)

4. The old bait and switch, it very well could be.
Who is he taking a bullet for then? Must be someone bigger than him, right? So who would that leave?

5. I wouldn't get your hopes up....
There's absolutely no way that Rove will leave this administration, unless he is arrested, tried and imprisoned, (and if this happens look for a presidential pardon).

He can't leave; he's one of Chimpy's main puppeteers.

8. Yes but..
Yes but if he didnt lie or say her name, there isnt anything he can do. You can indict someone because we want him to, he has to have proof.

9. Technically the Grand Jury Indicts...
But grand juries are notoriously led around by the nose by the Prosecutor.

10. It is the GRAND JURY who decides whether or not
there will be an indictment.

12.  Shot down by Jack Valenti on Inside Politics who called it no big deal!
Valenti is supposed to be representing the left, but he is more establishment power than anything else. He also chastised Hillary Clinton for likening Dubya to Alfred E. Neuman--said he would not say anything like this about a president, having worked for one--the lying LBJ, of course. Being called Alfred E. Neuman is the least of Dubya's worries.

Valenti does the Democratic party no favors appearing on their behalf on CNN's Inside Politics--or whatever it is these days.

16. Transcript up now. Valenti is strangely and unbelievably obtuse.
Note: CNN spelled his name BALENTI in this particular segment. I corrected it below.

VALENTI: As I have read in the papers what the law is, it's you have to deliberately know that this woman was a covert agent. If she wasn't a covert agent, there's no law broken on this and I think the lawyers will have a fine field day here. I think this is a little setback for Mr. Rove for a few weeks, but it will pass away.

The fact is, that all administrations leak. This is not something, you know, that I'm shocked this is going on upstairs. It happens. My judgment is that there's no long-term damage here, because I'm not even sure what's the big deal with this Wilson and his wife Valley Plame thing. It's not what I would call a huge issue facing the American public today.

CROWLEY: Well, probably from your lips to Bay's ears. I mean, just -- we have Senator Lautenberg, who has called -- asked that Karl Rove's security clearance be taken away from him. MoveOn.org, which is sort of the leading edge of the left, going, you know: Throw him out, he needs to resign. I mean...

VALENTI: Well that's all -- that's politics. Politics ain't bean bag and I think Bay knows, it's a pretty -- it's a blood sport and this is what's going on right now.

15. I couldn't care LESS whether Rove is fired!
This is freaking insane ... pretending that Rove's loss of a job is some kind of just punishment. IT'S NOT!! Hundreds of thousands of honest, hard-working people in this country lose their jobs every year and didn't do shit to deserve it! Why the FUCK is it treated like some harsh punishment when its one of the fucking hacks that causes others to lose theirs???

Rove belongs in prison!! Rove, along with the rest of this unholy cabal, belongs behind prison bars for life!
