CNN and MSN : Bush Job Approval at 51%
CNN and MSN are now using http://www.rasmussenreports.com/ to show that bush got a bounce out of the bombings in London. They both quoted the new polls released today. Is this a bounce or bullshit? Whatever it is, they are pushing it. Is anyone else seeing a media made bush bounce and rehnquist retirement this week to counteract what is going on? Why is death always a good thing for bush in the media's eyes?

39. Their televised gallup/cnn poll coverage showed Bush at 49% yesterday
Plus, the number of people Against Bush's policies in Iraq is up to something like 58%. So, it seems that some there are doig some serious spinning. Why aren't they covering their own poll results that were released yesterday?

You hear they shut off the cellphone service in the NY tunnels? They fear bombs might be set off with cellphones. Why do i have a feeling if a SCOTUS nomination goes sour or Rove gets in some serious trouble..........people are going to get hurt.

For one... Rasmussen was so accurate on the election of 2004 some people thought they were plugged into the BBV machines. They were off by less then 1/2 of 1%. Who cares what CNN and MSN says? I do.. because the general public needs to hear about the real issues, not a London bombing bush bounce. Where does the general public get the news? Them...

as far as Rasmussen, look at their entire record

as far as 2004, most every pollster was in range. Rasmussen's history is dismal at best. Look at their history

If he wasn't such a GOP freak.. (Writes about GOP World Domination) etc.. I might listen to his polls once in a while.

But aside from his books and ties to several neocon publications, he's also a hefty $$$ Bush supoorter.

So.. Whether his 2004 poll was spot on or not doesn't mean a lot to me.

For all I know, he and Wally O'Dell are are hanging out..

You know this, others know this.. The general public doesnt know the background on this pollster - like you. This can divert attention away from our goals. You may hate the MSM, I may hate the MSM, but the lemmings in this country WHICH WE NEED, dont.. so they watch... This is what pisses me off.

frankly CNN, MSNBC, and even fox, do not have "most people" in this country watching them. Most people are more interested in "survivor", and other such nonesense

Half of all Republicans (maybe more) are in denial over the Bushies performance and afraid to admit their boy sucks.

This poll is sooooo unimportant it's hardly worth the ink.

17. WRONG WRONG WRONG
If it just out there and no one noticed, fine i would agree with you. But when the MSM pushes it like its gods word -- it bothers me. It should bother you too. It may make those senators vote "YEA" for a scotus that's bad for this country because they see bush is over 50% -- and they think its good PR for 2006.

Bush aprov at 36? Where you looking at this in NY only? Bush has never gone below 41-43%, even at his worst on this board. Lets be real. Below 50 is good, above 50 bothers me.

25. I think you are confusing Shrubs numbers with Ahhnolds.
The number of people that would support the governator for another term dropped into the high 30s but *'s numbers never went that low.

*'s rise in the last couple weeks in curious. I attribute it to July 4, patriotism and all that jazz. Americans are dopes.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm

Rassmussen had him bottom out at 46% on June 29. He'd been slowly edging up but his numbers today are the same as the day before the bombings...51%. If CNN and MSNBC are connecting this to the bombings they are again mistaken. Look at the numbers.

Today.....51 48
July 10...50 49
July 9....51 48
July 8....51 47
July 7....52 47
July 6....51 48

With the news about to come out on Rove and Chimpy appointing Bolton once the Congress leaves, watch for the Chimp's numbers to hit the high-20s by the fall.

That's when he becomes VERY dangerous.

It's not really important. People, unfortunately don't understand that Bush's policies and the war in particular have made this country and the world for that matter more unsafe.

But that's the key. Democrats have to pound that wherever they go and whenever they speak. "We're fighting them there..." no longer holds any credibility even if the media still believes it does.

in our most loyal ally's capital city, killing almost 100 people and wounding more, to get a "bump" to 51%. That's pathetic.

If they aren't ashamed of this, they are either delusional or more evil than we already think they are.

42. I thinkig anything it is a Forth of July Bounce
If you look at how the numbers track, the bounce came after the country celebrated the fourth and has remian steady since...

Also, a 4+/- bounce in a tracking poll is meaningless.

You have to see a trend over two or three weeks, on approval ratings, in order to confirm a trend...

Horse race is different. But news filters in during the summer.....
