MSNBC: White House denials on Rove fall silent
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 08:03 AM by WLKjr
<i><snip>
WASHINGTON - For the better part of two years, the word coming out of the Bush White House was that presidential adviser Karl Rove had nothing to do with the leak of a female CIA officer's identity and that whoever did would be fired.
</snip></i>

Looks like Rove is about to be let go soon. It seems they aren't backing him up anymore.

1. Much as I'd love to see Rove fired
I can't see Junior doing it, even if and when Rove is indicted.

5. I hear you
Any moment now, no doubt Shrub will appear before the cameras to call Rove "a good man, a good American," and crow about what "a superb job" he's doing, lest we forget "September the 11th." :)

If he is forced to "cut" Rove loose, (although, short of Rove being locked away in solitary confinement in prison, we can rest assured Rove will still be calling the shots behind the scenes, out of the public eye) I would wager Shrub will have that very annoyed scowl on his face evocative of a brat who is simply not going to get his way this time.

6. I can't wait to hear that myself
It's really going to be a real show of character of that man when he comes out about Rove.

He has two options:

Call Rove a good man and keep him, blatantly showing that he has no respect for the Presidency at all

or

Fire Rove, make it clear that he does not support this, and save a little face.....

I am placing my bets with everyone else, I think he will invoke 9/11 and call Rove a good man and keep him.

2. FLIP FLOP anyone ?
the prez says he does what he says.

He said he wants to know who did it, he would fire...blah blah blah

Regardless of what he does or doesn't do to Rove, people now know the prez knowingly lied to the public. There is just no getting around that.

Save us a lot of time by saying "I lied".

While you are at it, please disclose the remaining lies too, WMD, etc etc etc

8. It will be interesting to see if bush's "legendary" tenacity to stick by
his friends w/loyalty is a part of the equation. He finds himself in a precarious position indeed.

If he let's Rove go, he signals that everyone else is expendable, and the whole 'loyalty' thing is a farce. If he keeps Rove, he is shown a liar to the American public, and someone who cannot be trusted to keep his word, as well as one who aids and abets criminal activity.

The Press is peeved, to say the least, McClellan got an earful, and he bears the scars of a good scorching. I can't wait until the next bush Press Conference...if you think he soiled himself before the Press before; he's gonna be in some serious crap the next time around, regardless of what he does....

10. As Much As I Would LOVE To See Rover In Stripes...
I doubt that THIS ADMINISTRATION will Ever let it happen! But if he does have to resign (IF), do you think they would put a "flower pot" somewhere when they want his advice???

Remember... Rover IS the idiot's BRAIN!!
