Plame's husband....
Yeah, he was sent to Africa to further validate the Administration's lies for going to war. However, he came back and wrote an editorial to the NYTimes and disputed their entire story. This pissed them off terribly. Especially the big guy in the White House. He's a spiteful and revengeful little person and he told Rove that he wanted that sonuvabitch destroyed. Rove would not do any dirty tricks without the knowledge of Dubya. They've been laughing and conspiring since their early days of working with Lee Atwater, the king of GOP dirty tricksters.

Now, as the press is handed little tidbits of information about Rove and Cooper, they are conspiring again to get off on a technicality. Because Rove never really mentioned Valerie Plame by name. They want everyone to believe that Matt Cooper was the only person that Rove communicated with and he never gave him a "name"? But, did he give the "name" to any of the other reporters with whom he was leaking the story? That's the question. Cooper is a nice diversion but is he the key to the story?

1. I like it.

Let's all just start referring to him that way.

3. I think we sometimes give GW too much credit for
knowing what goes on. I still feel Cheney is the real power. Rove may be his boy. Rove does babysit GW and fills him with bogus information. I am not defending GW at all. I just feel he is not the power. He sits on a fake throne and thinks he is king. Bolton has helped Cheney and started this vengeance against Wilson. I have always felt GW to be a puppet. Someone as dumb as he is couldn't possibly come up with all this crap.

4. But you recall he was the "hatchet man" for his Daddy...
in the first Bush Administration? He and Atwater were like two peas in a pod. I think you misunderestimate his capacity for vengeance and trouble-making.

7. Never underestimate the power of your opponents
Not being bright has never stopped anyone from being mean, scheming, revengful, and troublemaking. Actually, not being bright will help people to follow through on their baser instincts without thinking about the ramifications of their actions.

rove loves gw, not cheney. rove and gw go WAY back.

6. It only slowed them down temporarily...
It was to be more proof that the invasion of Iraq was legitimate. Wilson stabbed them in the back and they meant to get his ass.

8. It only slowed them down a bit
because of the lapdog media.

Now that they are showing some teeth (maybe only temporarily) it may be a good time to bring this issue - which i think is the core of the whole plame thing - to their attention.
I'd be interesting to see if they pick it up, or ignore it while continuing to show some teeth wrt the rest of the rove/plame case.

Fear of mushroom clouds was one of the main motivators for many to support this war, but that fear turns out to be founded on fabricated evidence - possibly fabricated by the government. It's just that many don't know that part of the story.

9. I agree...
That is the major component of the story. They lied to get us into war and Plame's husband refused to go along. But that's water under the bridge. We are where we are. Forget the tens of thousands of deaths and the threat that has materailized because of their lies and insanity. It's too late to do anything about it now. it's too late to even tell people the truth. That seems to be their thinking?

12. It's not yet to late to impeach
the whole gang.

But that seems to escape their thinking.

Question is if it would escape the people's thinking, if only they knew. I mean, if there ever was an opportunity to expose this, it is now.

10. Well, I suspect that the key to this story is to be found in what Bush
and Blair both most needed in the summer of 2003, just after the invasion--a FIND of WMDs in Iraq.

And, if they had a little plot going to PLANT some WMDs over there--and I would certainly believe it of them--who would be in the best position to stumble upon, stop or whistleblow such a plot, but covert CIA weapons expert Valerie Plame and her 20-year network of covert eyes and ears on WMDs?

And who ELSE might be in such a position? David Kelly, the Brit chief weapons inspector who turned up dead, after whistleblowing on Blair's "sexing up" of Brit intel on Iraq WMDs, during the same time period (summer '03).

One outed. One dead.

And since they DIDN'T FIND any WMDs in Iraq--not for want of hunting them, egged on by Judith Miller--I figure one of the above got onto them (probably Kelly). Plame was outed for her potential to discover nefarious doings in WMDs by the Bush Cartel, is my guess.

The "press" are boobies--or wholly corrupt and getting fed their lines. They are swallowing that Rove did it for political revenge; not seeing all the holes in that story; and are averting their eyes from Cheney, some of whose worldwide weapons profiteering is described here, at

Plame...the tip of the iceberg... (Plame maybe investigating Cheney arms deals when they busted her CIA weapons op)
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2178477#2180220

One of the holes in the Rove revenge story: Wilson says Cheney sent him to Niger. Cheney, who was cooking intel at the time, surely knew that Wilson would find no evidence of Iraq nukes in Niger. Why then did he send him? Wilson gets back, and reports no nukes. "Somehow" this bogus claim, Iraq nukes--a claim that is provably bogus, and now has a witness to its bogusness--ends up in Bush's State of the Union speech anyway. How did it get in there? (They had plenty of other lies to tell that were harder to disprove.) We're supposed to believe that happened by ACCIDENT?

The story of Rove's revenge is just full of odd corners like this. None of these so-called journalists are taking it apart. The odd corners clearly point to Wilson being set up, and the real target being his wife, and to Cheney being the traitor who outed the CIA weapons network--putting all their lives at risk, and blinding the CIA on a matter of utmost importance to national security. (Another odd corner: The patter was that Plame being Wilson's wife somehow tainted or discredited Wilson. Why would it? His wife being a covert WMDs expert would seem to ENHANCE his ability to perform the mission to Niger. So, why is this implication being made? To remove Cheney from the decision to send Wilson to Niger--to say, it was his wife's idea. Why would that taint or discredit Wilson? It doesn't! So why say it? See what I mean? An odd corner. They turn this crooked corner in Alice's "Wonderland," and everything else disappears behind them.)

Whether I have got this traitorous plot right or not (these are my guesses, for the most part), there are a lot of things in this story that don't add up, and shouldn't be taken at face value. Also, I am profoundly distrustful of the U.S. news monopolies when they pile on like this. I cannot help but get the impression that they've been given PERMISSION to pile on; that Rove is taking the fall by prior agreement, and will be pardoned and richly rewarded for it.

I'm sorry to throw cold water on people longing for truth, and light, and a restoration of the country we thought we were born to. I, too, long for these things. But I've been watching this Bush Cartel scene too long, and too closely, not to understand how totally and completely the news monopolies are their lapdogs. I am hugely admiring of anyone who goes after these people IN SPITE of the news monopolies. People like Fitzgerald, Wilson, Clarke, Edmunds, Moore, Arnebeck, Curtis and Eaton. What astonishing courage! And I am cheering them on, like other good Americans, and many other good people around the world, are doing. I also feel that there ARE journalists--perhaps a lot of them--who long for their shackles to be taken off, so they can do their job. I'm just not holding my breath until that happens, and I feel compelled to treat every word they speak and write with skepticism. They have served us so ill! They and their news organizations are not to be trusted.

-------

The answer to the stink in Washington DC is restoring our right to vote, by throwing Bushite electronic voting machine companies--Diebold, ES&S and brethren--out of the election business NOW--or at the least achieving some measure of election transparency with paper ballot backups, no secret programming code and strict auditing. The only place where we can get that done is in state/local jurisdictions, where the authority over election systems still resides, and where ordinary people still have some say. 11. Dont fall for it! The NAME is irrelevent!
"Whoever, having or having had authorized access to classified
information that identifies a covert agent, intentionally discloses any
information identifying such covert agent
to any individual not
authorized to receive classified information, knowing that the
information disclosed so identifies such covert agent"
http://foi.missouri.edu/bushinfopolicies/protection.html

The bold part shows that naming her or not naming her is irrelevent - he IDENTIFIED her. Think of it this way - if Rove had NOT identified her, his story would have been:

"A CIA agent sent Wilson to Niger"

That would NOT have been a story! So he OBVIOUSLY intentionally identified her.
