The cable networks are in the process of clearing Karl Rove...
I was listening to MSNBC this morning and the cute little O'Donnell gal, not Norah, was reporting from the White House. Her spin was that Rove had not given Cooper a "name" and no crime was really committed ...etc... It may take a few days but the White House will lay low, with no comments, and their friends in the whore media will take care of everything. They are using the media like they always do - no matter if it is selling a war or getting Rove off the hook. Surely they see how they are being used? Of course they do!

1. Wait For The Fitzgerald
He's the one who is researching the case. There is alot that he knows that the press doesn't know. Novak, Rove, Cooper and many, many others have and will testify.

If Fitzgerald decides that no crime has been committed, we still can demand Bush stick to his word. He said he would fire anyone who was leaking information about Plame's CIA status. Rove did it. Fire him!

9. He didn't say he'd fire the leaker...he said they'd be dealt with
I know it's semantics but so is saying Joe Wilson's wife is with the CIA and not giving her name.

17. They played the George jr. quote on GMA today, he said
if the law was broken, the person would "be taken care of". When I heard that I had to laugh like hell. Way to cover your buddy's ass George!

20. Thanks for the clarification
Does this mean KR gets a promotion and raise?

That's how I'd like to be taken care of!!!

21. it certainly does
Everyone in this administration who's been a complete failure to the country has gotten either a promotion or a Medal of Freedom, so I'm guessing Rove will get a seat on the Supreme Court.

16. The person who leaked the info to Rove has to be found and ousted, too
because s/he had no business giving him the info in the first place.

18. Exactly, this is one story that will have legal ramifications and the
Mindwashing mainstream media can't just wash it clean. At worst they'll have to report how long Rover is locked up for.

2. FOX NEWS
While watching a little of FOX news this morning just to see
what the enemy was saying, they were talking about the Rove/Plame
outing, and going on about how Plame was in the wrong for doing
certain thing, you would have thought that she outed herself
by listening to these FOX Fools, they will stop at nothing
to be ignorant, they should lose their FCC license

3. Okay, so he didn't specifically give a name.
He did, however, narrow the possibilities to exactly ONE person. Sorry, but your technicality isn't going to save you this time, Rover.

We don't know if he gave the name to another reporter?

7. My point is that it doesn't matter either way.
He made it such that he could only have possibly been referring to one person - Joseph Wilson's wife. That's as good as giving up her name.

4. I don't think it is up to them
I don't believe that the "media" has any power in this anymore. The power is in the hands of Patrick Fitzgerald. He doesn't work for the media.

10. Yeah, well
All the talking points in the world won't make a damn bit of difference if he committed a crime. They can spew all the garbage they want to but in the end the courts will decide.

11. If it is all some goofy misunderstanding
why did they lie about it? And why is Miller in jail? If Rove did nothing wrong, why doesn't he authorize her to testify and release her notes?

The other point that is getting spin is that Rove didn't know Plame was a covert operative, he thought she was working a desk job. And again, then why lie about it and cover up? Why didn't they come clean last year? And why not let Miller speak?

I will be interested to see if the WH press corp manages to maintain their spine implant, or if yesterday was just some hallucinatory aberration.

12. Many in the news media are angry about how this has played out
with Miller going to jail and all. The "undisclosed" or "anonymous" source is something journalists and media people value, it is how they earn their money. The administration has hit their pocketbooks and in the case of journalists with integrity and a sense of what is right and wrong, this administration is trying to make it more difficult to get the truth out.

14. From what I can see,
there a lot in the press who are pissed off. KKKrove lied to them. It's fine if he lies to us peons, but how dare he lie to them.

Fitz has got a lot. So far the judges have been on his side when he shows some classified documents.

Someone said KKKrove has testified 3 times. That seems really odd to me. Fitz must have caught him on something & called him back in again. OTH I'm not a lawyer & don't play one on tv.

best

22. A verb not a noun
Whether one says "Valerie," "Wilson's wife," or "that lady over there," in any case you have "named" as in "identified" the person.

Someone here today has the text of the law: it's about revealing the identity of an agent, not literally only speaking their name.

I always counter with: "What the hell are you talking about".

Republicans need to start calling the media what they really are:

I can't take watching this stuff on Rove. I just want them to shut up if they aren't going to say anything new. (They=talking heads) Not as bad as the Aruba story yet...

I hate being impatient...

26. how are you part of the problem? just don't watch these MOFOs
I cannot BELIEVE how my understanding of things like the Hurricane, London bombing, etc are so much more rational since I don't watch the constant hyping and twisting going on at all the 24 hour news channels. It's really sad they consider that "NEWS". it is pure entertainment.

quite simple.
