Here IS something you can do for our country: PLEASE READ!
I have spoken with Congressman Conyer's office this morning and have been given the names of 4 KEY Republicans to contact regarding moving forward with both the Downing Street Memo and Karl Rove hearings.

F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. - Wisconsin Rep.
Chairman: Judiciary Committee (202) 225-5101

Henry Hyde - Illinois Rep.
Chairman: International Relations Committee (202) 225-4561

Duncan Hunter - California Rep.
Chairman: House Armed Services Committee (202) 225-5672

Pete Hoekstra - Michigan Rep.
Chairman: House Permanent Select Committee (202) 225-4401
on Intelligence

I have already made my telephone calls to them. Received the usual "I will pass this along to the Congressman" to which I respectfully replied that "I CERTAINLY hope that you do"!

PLEASE, PLEASE Call these people. Light up their telephones like Christmas trees. Let them know we want these hearings to come out into the light of day and move forward.

This is the ONLY way we can move towards getting key people sworn in and speaking under oath to these matters.

Also - please check out AfterDowningStreet.org to view information about town hall meetings to take place on July 23rd. Hopefully there will be something happening near you.

We need to really become organized to have an effect.

Sensenbrenner: (young guy) I will forward your message to him.

Hyde: (mature woman) I have NO idea if we have jurisdiction over these issues but I will tell him you called.

Hunter: (young man) I will pass along your message, I'm curious, have you contacted YOUR congressperson today? (yes) PERFECT. I'll pass along your message.

Hoekstra: (young man) I'll pass that information along for you...

6. thank YOU for posting the phone numbers and info - makes it so easy
to pick up the phone, thanks again.

The kid at Hunter's office was a little stinker, but polite. The woman at Hyde's sounded like she owned the place.

16. YES. henry hyde. YES. He and all the republi-CONS need to hear
this over and over and over and over and over and over until they think they're gonna go stark raving MAD.

OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

Besides, hyde deserves to be peppered since he admitted recently that the Clinton persecution was payback for Nixon. He finally copped to it. Let's make it REALLY hot and uncomfortable for these guys, 'eh? Help get them used to where they're all gonna wind up in the afterlife, anyway, so you'll be doing them a favor.

8. You really want us to call Senseless-Brenner?
He's just going to turn off the mic on my telephone and turn-off the lights in the secretary's office.

But if it will annoy him, yeah, I'll call.

Maybe I'll think of something funny and obnoxious to say.

10. Please do.
I said something to the effect that it would be good for the country to 'democratically' be able to enable these hearings to go forward

Hope my innuendo wasn't lost on the listener.

"Now, make sure you get this down before he turns off my phone and makes everyone leave your office. That's what he does, you know. If he doesn't like what's being said, he turns off the microphones and makes everyone leave. You're sure you got it?"

13. Well done. Recommended. Thank you.

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - How ever long it takes, the day must come when tens of millions of caring individuals peacefully but persistently defy the dictator, deny the corporatists their cash flow, and halt the evil being done in Iraq and in all the other places the Bu$h neoconster regime is destroying civilization and the environment in the name of "America."

14. My conversation with Hoekstra 's office
I spoke to a nice young lady on the phone.

I told her something like this:

I know that calling some of the other Republicans will be like speaking to a stone wall. They're all going to close ranks behind Rove no matter what. Because they are, after all, Republicans.

But since Hoekstra is on the Intelligence Committee, I hope that his commitment to protecting national security and our intelligence assets will outweigh any partisan considerations.

I won't say I would be surprised-- he is, after all, a Republican-- but I would be disappointed if Hoekstra didn't want to investigate Karl Rove.

18. perfect! you can use their Chairmanship, listed in Bullwinkle's post, to
pressure them into doing the responsible, PATRIOTIC thing ("I know Chairman ________ is a true patriot and will look into this, esp since he chairs the _______ committee. He should be able to hold hearings looking into Rove and the DSM, afterall, there were ten days of hearings investigating the Clinton's Christmas list, way back when.")

Hunter's staffer asked if I called MY rep ... I said yes but then reiterated how Hunter is 'important' because of his position as Chairman.

23. Yes - Hunter's office is the only one asking if I called 'MY Rep' - to
which I said yes - but I was also targeting those Republicans who are in a position to get something done and serve the needs of the people who elected them.
