what about this worst case scenario: |
|
imagine that Valerie Plame was in a position to "hire" her husband to go to Niger. Say that she did.
So what?
Suppose she did it HOPING that the yellow cake story would be debunked.
So what?
THE FACT IS THERE WAS NO IRAQ YELLOWCAKE!!!
Valerie could have sent Ted Kennedy, or Robert Novak instead of Joe Wilson. It wouldn't have mattered, because THERE WAS NO YELLOWCAKE!!!
If there HAD been yellowcake, and Joe Wilson had lied and said there wasn't. Why didn't David Kay and all the other inspectors find the yellowcake?
Ken Mehlman had MAJOR BALLS to claim Wilson was lying about that. He did it again just now on Blitzer. Blitzer caught him and said wait a minute, Wilson was right, there was no yellowcake, right?
Mehlman didn't care anout yellowcake. He was stuck on his "liar" talking point, even tho Blitzer called him on it!!!
Then later, CNN craftily cut this Mehman/Blitzer exchange, so it only included Mehlman righteously talking about an untrue story Wilson had spread, and leaving out Blitzer calling Mehlman on that lie.
Result? Smear against Wilson is intact, smear against Rove? didn't happen. Mehlman definitely got beat and he knew it. Hooray Blitzer! For once (only!) he seems to have done his job!

1. If they'd sent Novak, the yellowcake would have appeared. |

Bet they wish they'd thought of that earlier.
