Gannon, DeLay, Fristian Putsch, DSM, Rove's Treason - Keep them going
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 08:41 PM by NAO
In the seven months that have elapsed since the Coronation of the Chimperor, we have had a continuous series of ghastly revelations of the unfathomable horrific corruption of Bush and the GOP.

First there was Gannon-gate - the homosexual escort posing as a legitimate journalist and giving the president softball questions.

Then the Tom Delay scandals. Here the Democrats really got on it and made sure it was noticed by the corporate media.

Then the Fristian Theocratic Putsch. Here Brother Bill Frist led the People of Faith like an Old Testament Prophet against the Demonic Democrats and other Enemies of the Lord in a mega-televised simulcast from a mega-Church in NC. He ended up looking like a scary nut-job. The corporate media kind of just ignored it to save him the embarrassment.

Then the DSM, which is really the biggest of them all - "the intelligence was being fixed". Bush lied, ordered our intelligence services to doctor and falsify the truth to support his pre-mediated desire to invade Iraq. The corporate media ignored this for a long time, then gave it the lightest possible coverage.

Now, we have the Treason of Karl Rove. We knew about Plame-gate since it happened, but for some reason, the corporate media was really, really soft on it. An intensive focus and investigation in Plame-gate might have effected the outcome of the election (either by tarnishing Bush or taking out the architect of his re-election). But finally, the press is doing their job and giving the story proper attention.

My concern at this point is that Rove's Treason not be allowed to sweep the other Bush II scandals away in the ever-churning news cycle. We need to make sure people do not forget Gannon-gate; Delay-gate; the Fristian Theocratic Putsch; the DSM with it's cooked intelligence and lies to get us into war; and finally the Treason of Bush's Brain, his right-hand man.

Each of these is a major scandal. Taken together, they paint the GOP for what they really are. They "moral values" rhetoric was pure BS. "Ye shall know them by their fruits"...well, now we know.

The overall public impression of Republicans as craven, amoral, vindictive, deceitful, extremists is dependent on keeping all of these scandals alive and well in public memory. They need to be further investigated, more extensively documented, and kept in the spotlight so people are continuously reminded of them.

The "2005 GOP Scandal Set" would make a nice 30-second TV spot. I'd feel like the money I give to the Democratic Party every month was going to really good use.
