Why would Rove THINK to "warn" a journalist to NOT print something?? Did he read Miller's or Cooper's minds about their FUTURE plans? Clairvoyance? A hunch?
No, the ONLY reason to call a reporter, anyone calling any reporter, is to GIVE a story, PLANT a story. In this case, it was to stop Agent Plame's network from investigating any more on the WMD's, thus putting the kibosh on Bushco's lies about their existence.
IMO, the discrediting of Amb. Wilson was secondary, as was the "yellow-cake" story. And why shouldn't either the CIA and/or Agent Plame send Wilson to investigate? Both parties knew he was the only one at that stage that Agent Plame could trust with the truth.
