2. but too little, too late, and probably for the wrong reasons. |
|
Where was his brain during the 2000 and 2004 election spin that all but destroyed our system of actual voting rights? Where was he when Judith Miller's Chalabi stories were all the rage? Where was he when CLEARLY Joe Wilson trounced WH credibility? Oh, that's right. He was "reporting" what the WH wanted reported and smirking at democrats' responses.

all this time i've been saying to myself, "i don't trust David Gregory" and why is he so cocky with Scott McClellan but says nothing to the No.1 man himself... it is easy to be cocky with McClellan and if anyone is a bully it must be a pleasure to see him stammer and sweat himself out of an answer ...so Gregory is doing nothing that is not easy ..... but why isn't he asking junior himself some of these questions...that is what he should be doing.
edited to add: perhaps i might give him some credit for standing up to chhris matthews and his republican guests on the SOFTBALL show.
just my humble opiononated opinion.

4. Because it's personal to the press now |
|
Bush lies to the nation, Scottie lies to the WH Press Corp - that makes it personal. That's why some of them have woken up now and are on the offensive with Scottie - they've been personally offended by his's remarks on Rove.

6. The "continental" Gregory? |
|
I think he has seen the light. I recall a forum shown on c-span where the writer for tompaine.com asked the panel of WH correspondents why they weren't more aggressive with the WH and David cited the old chestnut of "access" -- "If we are aggressive, we lose our access."
Since that time, he has become more sure-footed in his role as the people's watchdog. I suspect that he despises Bush.
