"Fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here" crap |
|
If I hear this line one more time I'm going to explode. Truth is, the people who are keen to do 9/11 or London-style attacks are probably ALREADY HERE.
The London tragedy is a prime example. It's being reported there are more than 200 "home-grown British terrorists" in the UK, with as many as 50 suicide bombers ready to act now. I'd be shocked if we didn't have comparable numbers in the US.
I am so angry with this administration and their misguided policies and wars. At least the UK won't piss around; you can guarantee they'll be on the trail of these guys without letting up. They won't a quest for Middle Eastern oil detract from the true mission at hand. And you won't hear any of this "We're gonna smoke 'em out" and "We want him dead or alive" banter quickly replaced with "I don't really care where he is. He's not our top priority" b.s.
It's very likely that the British people won't stand for the kind of pussy-footing around that we've had to put up from Bushie boy.
Sorry about the rant - I feel much better now that I've gotten that off my chest. thanks!

I write the DU Blog Box column, which comes out each Friday. Ten minutes ago, I typed: After all, they (especially Fox News) offered non-stop speculation/ conjecture coverage almost equal to their recent Michael Jackson media mania. Talking hairdos even plodded on after George W.'s big print cue cards instructed him to repeat his ridiculous "We fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here" crap, which surely pissed off the citizens of London royally. How would we feel if the attacks had happened here, and Tony Blair had said that?
