Rove - remember that standard Bush policy is to confuse

Bush's administration has a history of releasing competing arguments through various sources that are intended to confuse the hell out of the sheeple. They change the story, then change it again. And again.

Rove, Novak and pals are playing this out as we speak.

Novak claims it was Rove. Or does he? Rove claims he heard it from Novak. Novak heard it from two administration sources, or maybe it was two reporters. Rove heard it from the media. Rove told Miller told Novak told Rove. Rove claims he didn't know Plame's name. Or maybe it was that he didn't SAY her name. And on and on and on.

The next few days, the story will change another five times. The intent is to confuse people so that they lose interest.

Unfortunately, it often works.
