NH Papers that endorse Clark |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 10:55 PM by Clark4Prez
A pick me up for my fellow Clark Supporters:
Exeter News Letter
(1/17/04)
"There is, however, a very viable alternative in the campaign of retired Gen. Wesley Clark, and we are more than happy to endorse him for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Clark is an intelligent man who brings to this campaign a sense of where he wants to bring America. He has a vision and the varied experience that makes him uniquely qualified among the Democratic candidates to answer the question of how America will ford the seemingly impassable waters that now surround us. He is also a man who is not driven by ideology, but rather a deep and abiding desire to find the best solutions to strengthen all Americans and our reputation around the world."
Connecticut Valley Spectator
(1/22/04)
"Regardless of how brutally he bashes our current president or how skillfully he second-guesses the events of the last three years, any Democrat lucky enough to beat George W. Bush in November will still inherit the world as is.
A world in which hundreds of thousands of American men and women are stationed around the world in hostile territory, and the threat of terrorist attack looms as large as it did on 9/11. No amount of hindsight will lessen the daunting task facing the next commander in chief.
Who can make America feel safe again? And who has the demeanor and know-how to militarily and diplomatically deliver us from the perpetual state of war in which we now live so that America can feel like America again?
General Wesley Clark is the only Democrat up to the task."
Conway Daily Sun
(1/22/04)
"Having successfully prosecuted the war in Kosovo, Clark is a proven leader of world-class stature and he has been consistent in his message that invading Iraq was a needless diversion to the real war of terrorism. If the casualties mount and Americans begin to question our role in what may increasingly look like a civil war, his message will resonate with independent voters in the so-called swing states.
Because he has voted for Republican presidents to support national security, Clark been criticized for not being a real Democrat. But to act on one's beliefs and not politics we see as a strength."

is a right wing paper. It's kind of like Lieberman being endorsed by the Union Leader. Not a plus if you wish to be seen as a Democrat.

I really like this line:
'He has a vision and the varied experience that makes him uniquely qualified among the Democratic candidates to answer the question of how America will ford the seemingly impassable waters that now surround us.'
Nice imagery. Go Wes!

of the Conway Sun endorsing Clark, was an editorial by a guy who said he changed his party affiliation to vote in the Democratic primary, so that he could have a say in the nominee - but he was going to change it back to vote the right way in November.
