Anybody else is having a feeling that repugs are aiming for |

complete haze re: Plame, so that people come to be accustomed to the idea that she, now an outed CIA operative, was never really technically outed, that she sort of lost her cover quite innocently by many people simultaneously saying that she was a CIA employee (not a covert agent per se) and so who you're gonna find liable?

.. perhaps she was the one who suggested and possibly authorized her husband's trip to Niger.
.. that she really wasn't covert at the time she was outed, and that acc. to Wilson.
Ouch.

2. I think that's what they're hoping for |
|
but what it's coming across to me as is, "none of our lies have worked so far, quick, throw another one out there. Something's got to work!" The sheer desperation is almost comical.

4. Right. Thom Hartmann is discussing this now. Says they are now blaming |
|
the journalists. It's a pass the buck game - where will it end up? Assuming Fitz has to come to some conclusion (after all, his investigation started in order to find the leaker(s), right?). He cannot just say "well, it's kind of muddled". Who are they going to stick it with in the end? Someone dead or someone scared, like Miller, IMO.

3. Well, that's all they CAN do. I don't think a special prosecutor cares... |

... though. I also don't think it's working with the public. Have you seen the latest numbers? 42% approval, 41% think he's trustworthy, 80% think Rove should be fired. Those first two polls (Ipsos/AP and NBC/WSJ) are from before last weekend, when the Rove thing really broke.
Bush will be below 40% approval in some polls by August.
