Rove, Novak (Apparently) Contradict One Another
Chief presidential adviser Karl Rove testified to a grand jury that he talked with two journalists before they divulged the identity of an undercover CIA officer but that he originally learned about the operative from the news media and not government sources, according to a person briefed on the testimony.

The person, who works in the legal profession and spoke only on condition of anonymity because of grand jury secrecy, told the Associated Press that Rove testified last year that he remembers specifically being told by columnist Robert Novak that Valerie Plame, the wife of a harsh Iraq war critic, worked for the CIA.

Associated Press, July 15, 2005

Novak, in an interview, said his sources had come to him with the information. "I didn't dig it out, it was given to me," he said. "They thought it was significant, they gave me the name and I used it."

5. Novak will change his story
he'll suddenly remember that it wasn't the way he said. yeah, someone will remind him that his memory is wrong. "oh yeah, I did tell Rove her name. golly, what was I thinking?"

6. Like the purloined letter, that the answer is in plain sight
Who used the name PLAME to Novak? Everyone keeps saying they didn't know her, didn't know her name. Who knew her as Plame instead of Wilson? A maiden name is far more esoteric than a married name. The State Dept. memo on the trip to Africa that people are calling the possible source of the story refers to her as Wilson.

And who knew even MORE esoteric information - her cover company?

7. how many leaks
If Novak didn't get his information from Rove, then Rove can't be one of his two administration sources.

So can we assume there are three administration sources, one of whom used "Valerie Plame" instead of "Valerie Wilson"?

Indeed, the plot thickens ...

8. And that is why Novak is NOT in jail.
He was the first to save his skin. You all KNOW that don't ya?

I mean, Novak is not jailed because he REVEALED HIS SOURCE....and he was first in line to do so.

9. said his sources had come to him with the information.
He is not in jail so I take it he has given up his source. Anyone know what he has to say about Miller? Novak is the worst sort of scum. absolutely no respect or principles.
