Barbara and George should have taken parenting classes. |
|
Seriously. Those two really, really screwed up and now the entire world has to deal with their twisted offspring.
Dubya didn`t become a boorish bully by accident. Somewhere along the line he figured out that his bloodline was his free pass. He hit automatic pilot and careened right past normal rules of accountability. I don`t think he made so much as a pit stop in reality. He didn`t need to because he had that Family Bail Out Benefit. Did his parents ever say "NO" to him? Did they ever suggest that he ought to grow up and stop acting like a juvenile thug?
I think Bush is relishing the presidential spotlight where he can activate his delusions of grandeur with a flight suit costume or a stroll across a fake bridge as he explains his "roadmap" to Mideast peace. He even gets to pretend he`s making a cameo appearance in an old John Wayne movie or perhaps pretend he can rectify his AWOL record by using our troops as props in a photo op. Hail to the chief is a terrific excuse for a prime time strut across a flag-draped stage. Just like in the movies. Hands half cupped, arms slightly bent and held away from his body like he`s going to threaten someone at any moment. The further South he travels, the thicker his Texas drawl. The Fraud President.
This man scares the hell out of me. When he slices down through the air with his open palm and talks about "killin` killers" like he`s the star in a violent adolescent video, I want to throw up. Only a depraved man like George Bush could utter "Bring it on" at a time of war. "Bring it on" like he`s the big dude with the set of chains in the alley. Piles and piles of corpses created by his lies and he makes jokes...."Nope, no WMDs under here"....a prime example of just how twisted he is. Too bad Bush`s parents didn`t have a time-out room way back when.

doubt Babs would have applied anything from a parenting class. It would only clutter up her beautiful brain.

5. This says it all: on the day of their daughter, Robin's burial, George |

and Barbara played golf. The little girl was less than 5 years old and died of a horrendous terminal condition. It's been said that her death traumatized * who wasn't initially told of her death.

10. How many others would had gone golfing or something similar |
|
with the death of a child?
99.99999% probably would had been grieving for at least that day if not a few more after the burial.

6. Money and social status |

are the only things that kept him from becoming a serial killer like Ted Bundy.
(Of course, you could argue he is one anyhow.)

12. Bush's mom even encouraged his bullying |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:46 PM by Lisa
He took it upon himself to be "the man of the house" when his dad was away so much. His mom was still so affected by Robin's death that she shifted the responsibilities for supervising and disciplining the younger children onto George W. -- I guess that it either didn't occur to her to get counselling, or she didn't want to admit that she needed help.
Anyway, the reports I've read stated that George W. would go so far as to shoot his brothers with his pellet gun, in the house, if he felt they'd stepped out of line, and his mom didn't rebuke him. I'm not a medical professional, but I've observed enough bullies to know that they're particularly dangerous when they think they're doing something that people (or rather, the people they believe to be important) will approve of. Bush later went on to be "the enforcer" for his dad's election campaigns -- the person who did the adversarial and unpleasant jobs that nobody else wanted (e.g. firing staff). He probably wouldn't have been willing to assume that role if he hadn't had those childhood experiences.
I can't help wondering if the events of 9/11 snapped Bush back into the mentality of an anxious, confused pre-teen who thought he was doing his parents a favor, by being "the designated hitter". His persona shifted, and even his physical appearance became meaner (note the wrinkles around his eyes and nose, from glaring at people). He's convinced he's justified in everything he does, no matter how extreme, and that the right-thinking folks will thank him for it. Any criticism will be ignored -- the way he ignored Jeb and his brothers when they blubbered and begged him not to hurt them.
No wonder he sees himself as beyond reproach -- the ultimate big brother, put here by the Ultimate Parent (not his dad, since he reminded everyone that he doesn't pick up the phone and consult GHWB on matters of state, but prays daily instead!).
