John Cornyn (R-TX) on Rove: "More of the same anger and lashing out"
On the subject of Rove, no need to read lips
As blogs label the political aide a 'traitor,' the RNC reduces reporters' work to 'attacks'
By JULIE MASON

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/3268486

WASHINGTON - That testy, anxious feeling that has been gathering strength this past week finally has a name: Rove Rage.

"I think we've exhausted discussion on this the last couple of days," McClellan told reporters. Responded one, "You haven't even scratched the surface."

Beyond the White House, voices on the left were triumphant, claiming their e-mail campaign had goaded the somnambulant White House press corps into action. But that's one of the pitfalls of getting the news from blogs. Any regular reader of White House briefing transcripts knows that it's customary for reporters to ask aggressive questions — and for the press secretary to dodge, weave or stonewall.

The Republican National Committee, apparently unconstrained by the same investigatory issues that silenced the White House, urgently dispatched com-muniques, talking points and press releases describing the affair as more partisan attacks. One RNC document quoted Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, a neighbor and longtime friend of Rove. "Sadly, these attacks are more of the same kind of anger and lashing out that has become the substitute for bipartisan action and progress," Cornyn said.

2. GOP=More of the same lies and slanders and lashing out
Exactly the technique they used on McCain, Kerry, Wilson and anyone who stands in the way of their political goals.

3. I have lost so much respect for Cornyn
since he became my senator. I didn't agree with him most of the time, but I at least gave him some credit for some intellectual integrity. But since he became a senator, he assumed the role of nothing more than the mindless attack dog on a chain.

7. He was a jerk from the beginning
and I don't have anything good to say about Lamar Smith either, since he got gerrymandered into my district. With very, very few exceptions, most of them seem to be evil. Some more than others.

9. Cornyn is the absolute worst Senator in DC
and he might be appointed to the Supreme Court:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/17/politics/politicsspecial1/17cornyn.html

Don't any of you tell me your Senator is worse, either. This SOB took Enron's money, flatly refused to return it, has been in bed with Karl Rove since the early '90's, considers Rick Santorum a role model, and NEVER RESPONDS to a dissenting constituent's letters or e-mail.

He's a stealth Ashcroft, and he will be in the Senate long after Santorum is defeated this coming November.

10. I thought you were all for open government, John.
Ensuring the Consent of the Governed:
Celebrating America’s Commitment to Freedom of Information
And Openness in Government

By U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas)

The celebration of our nation's first-ever national Sunshine Week is, at its essence, a celebration of our nation's founding principles.

---snip---

Open government is a fundamental principle of our democracy. As President Lincoln once said, "no man is good enough to govern another without that person's consent"—and of course, consent is meaningless if it is not informed consent. For that very reason, the cause of open government is as American as our commitment to constitutional democracy.

Or are you a HYPOCRITE?????

11. Cornyn is the SOB who supported the killing of "activist" US judges.

He should have been kicked out of his stolen seat so fast his head swam.

Tell us more about anger and lashing out because you promote it and ignite it against Democrats.

13. Republicans are like the scared Iraqis immediately after the war:
They whisper to our troops, "Have you caught or killed Sadaam yet?

The majority of Republicans, I believe, are the same way here for obvious reasons. They want to be sure Rove is metaphorically 'dead and buried' before they sick their heads out and we have to be mindful of that. Same with DeLay. These guys are two very viscious, animalistic revenge-seekers and no one is immune.
