Rove Outed Others
Karl Rove in his revenge against Ambassador Joseph Wilson, outed his wife as a clandestine CIA agent. However, his wife had recorded her employment as "Brewster Jennings & Associates." It turns out that this company was a front company for CIA operatives. This fact has already been reported in several news media sources, including the Washington Post:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A40012-2003Oct3?language=printer

There is no doubt that foreign intelligence agencies as well as enemy organizations of the CIA have received this information as well. Therefore, any operative at all who listed their employment with Brewster Jennings for cover is in danger of a blown cover. This danger could even be relevant to current operatives in foreign countries who listed this front company as former employment.

This information could now be life-threatening for all such agents or could have been used to seek them out or sabotage their missions at the time of the revelation.

1. Even if she hadn't been on deep cover for 5 years or so
What about people involved with Brewster & Jennings for more than that? Or who still were associated at the time Rove spoke about her? It boggles me how even he would allow his need for revenge to go this far. And it gives credence to the theories that the WH was/is at war with the CIA.

3. Possible.
I think it's more of a take-over than a war, though. They surely had allies within the agency. Then, they shook it up, there were resignations, they put a new head in charge, etc. This was like a statement to all opposition within the agency:
"If you mess with us, here is what will happen."

However, as to outing the whole CIA front company, perhaps it was predominantly anti-Bush because of the nature of the intel that it was aware of. For example, perhaps its intel was all about the lack of WMD's in Iraq etc. Then, the agents would all be aware of the hypocrisy of the Administration and object to the lack of diplomacy etc prior to war.

This would make sense since the name of the company is taken from an owner of a large oil company (Mobil I think). The front company may have been pretending to go on oil business trips to Middle Eastern countries while they gathered intel instead.

2. Since he killed off an entire front company
I think it's tantamount to espionnage. So look for a full pardon and the medal of freedom before the 06 elction.

5. Good point.
It is tantamount to espionage.

He may as well have been a double agent secretly working for a foreign government. And giving them a CIA list of agent names.
