Whoa... This is starting to look REALLY SERIOUS for BushCo...
LA Times story:

"WASHINGTON -- Top aides to President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney were intensely focused on discrediting former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV in the days after he wrote an op-ed article for the New York Times suggesting the administration manipulated intelligence to justify going to war in Iraq, federal investigators have been told.

Prosecutors investigating whether White House officials illegally leaked the identity of Wilson's wife, a CIA officer who had worked undercover, have been told that Bush's top political strategist, Karl Rove, and I. Lewis Libby, chief of staff for Vice President Dick Cheney, were especially intent on undercutting Wilson's credibility, according to a person familiar with the inquiry.

While lower-level White House staff members typically handle most contacts with the media, Rove and Libby began personally communicating with reporters about Wilson, prosecutors were told.

A source directly familiar with information provided to prosecutors said Rove's interest was so strong that it prompted questions in the White House. When asked at one point why he was pursuing the diplomat so aggressively, Rove responded: "He's a Democrat." Rove then cited Wilson's campaign donations, which leaned toward Democrats, the person familiar with the case said."

7. I feel the same way you do
After so many disappointments from the abuse of power in this administration, and the media along with the democrats essitially let it happen, I hope a republican prosecuter can make it a reality

I have always said that it will take moderate republicans to take back our country, because the democrats are too split

4. RICO... suave... AEI, PNAC, GOP all going down
I wonder, though. They shoot down everyone else who gets in their way. How is Fitzgerald managing to avoid their usual thuggery?

9. he hasn't indicted anyone yet
so it doesn't do them any good to attack fitzgerald, yet. rnc ken was on one of the news shows today and expressed his 'respect' for fitzgerald, but refused to rule out attacking him if indictments are handed down.

i'm sure he'll catch his share of holy hell when bushco feels they are out of options.

11. the verbal part wasn't what I was worried about
The number of "convenient" deaths for the Bush administration is over the top, and so I fear for his safety.

6. When this first starting coming out the MSM
was busy protecting judy 'media darling' miller. Now all of a sudden they've gone back to noticing that kkkarl et al were outing a CIA operative & that it was a coordinated effort.

What about poor judy? Aren't they supposed to still be crying about how she was sooo mistreated? :sarcasm:

Great article & thanks for posting. I'm loving all of these op-ed pieces that get back to the real issues.

best

8. Hmm another terra alert in the works?
To distract and yell booga booga, another planned"incident"
The reason I say this is on 95 tonight they lit up the ol' "report any suspicious activities" roadsigns, they haven't been on for awhile.
I think these signs and booga booga bullshit reflects how scared Bush co is of US and getting caught in their criminal scams.
