"We watch Fox so you don't have too"
News Hounds Media Digest # 40
7/10/05 to 7/17/05
1. Melanie: On Friday, July 15, the Rovegate scandal got its first mention on Your World w/Neil Cavuto. As a matter of fact, Cavuto devoted four segments to it. But even after four segments, only one voice, the pro-administration voice, had been heard.
http://tinyurl.com/c35352. Nancy: David Asman continued his efforts to foster anti-Americanism in every other country on the face of the planet. This time it was the citizens of Japan and Australia who could be offended by his idiotic comment.

Chrish: The spin cycle was set to frantic on Fox this week, with Fox faces on all programs drilling the RNC talking points about the Rove/Plame scandal practically verbatim. Most revolting was John Gibson's suggestion that Karl Rove get a medal for his vengeful disclosure of Agent Valerie Plame's position.

Deborah: After bashing the BBC this week, Bill O'Reilly claimed that he invited Roger Mosey, Head of BBC News, to appear on the show but Mosey was so afraid that he hid in the "loo". Roger Mosey sent the News Hounds an e-mail with a very different story.

Donna: This week all of the shows on Fox News brought out the same talking points to indicate that Karl Rove was not guilty of outing a CIA operative. Most of the talking points entailed blaming others like Democrats, Joe Wilson, etc. Not until Shepard Smith interviewed Tom Delay did we get a new talking point and it was a whopper.

Ellen: Is there any other news network that would call on Ann Coulter for serious commentary about Karl Rove and Plamegate? Coulter's childish name-calling on Hannity & Colmes demonstrated that while she may have had some recent cosmetic work to keep her appearance youthful, she remains as immature as ever on the inside.

Judy: Brian Kilmeade's "The Games Do Count" shows that Fox News puts a partisan spin even on sports, as he interviewed three times as many Republican politicians as Democrats for the book and left out former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton while including both Bushes, Ronald Reagan (via his son), and Gerald Ford.
