What Says the Wall St. Journal About RoveGate? |
|
Have they left Denial for Reality?
Do they think Bush can buy himself out?
Do they foam at the mouth with Republican talking points?
Do they make it up as they go along?
I used to read the Journal, until they went crazy during the Morning in America / Ronald Reagan fantasy. How do they approach this latest manifestation of Watergate fallout?
And as a side question: if the US had fried Nixon, would any of the other stuff have happened: Gingrich, Iran/Contra, Monica, Bush I and II?

1. News or Editorial Pages |

That's two different things. The news reports have indicated the links between Wilson and the exposure of Plame's identity and the political (if not also legal) problems the White House is in.
The opinion sections then try to spin the same informaiton to make Rove come out the good guy for exposing Wilson.

2. Your "side question" is really the important one |

What should we do with these traitors? I'm personally against the death penalty, though that's the ultimate penalty in Treason cases, isn't it? I'm thinking life in prison, especially considering the deaths these foul bastards have caused.
