So simple, Dubya. Just ask Karl if he did it. |

Media marionettes have yakked about Republican`s solid moral values for months now. Church goers, God lovers, freedom fighters with the best families, the bluest blood, the truest patriotism. We`re hard pressed to find a single Republican leader without a row of flags behind his microphone or an official GOP flag pin on his striped lapel. That`s why voters had to go with five times deferred Mr. Dick Cheney over General Wesley Clark in the pre-war discussions. Cheney was one of them....solid, courageous and he loved freedom.
At Bush`s next photo op, I`d like to see a "journalist" ask Bush why he doesn`t just stroll around the bend a few feet and ask Karl if he`s a leaker. Bush could probably do that in less than three minutes...about the same time as one of his reckless downhill rides on that famous bike.
Come to think of it, Karl Rove invented George Bush. He took a spolied, bullying, 30-ish adolescent and using imagery that would rival anything from Steven Spielberg, gave this little man a big flight suit. Americans loved it. Shouts of "I believe, I believe" underscored their reverence for Bush`s moral certainty. America was about to be saved from oral sex and budget surpluses.

So simple that even Bob Schieffer briefly figured it out yesterday on his weekly waste of airtime. I wonder why the media, which suddenly discovered all those "values voters" that allegedly decided the 2004 election, haven't gone back to their new-found favorites to ask them why they think that the good, moral, and above all Christian George W. Bush hasn't insisted on finding out the truth from his own staff?
It was certainly a much more interesting subject than, say, the voting irregularities in Ohio, for the media to focus on after the 2004 election: The supposed perfect marriage of good old-fashioned American values and their best and highest expression in the re-election of George W. Bush, the born-again president. And yet, when there appears to be some highly illegal, partisan and dangerous to national security activity under his very nose, George doesn't seem to curious to get to the truth, and the media are content to let him off the hook.
A very odd circumstance for the so-called liberal media.
