White House trying desperately to get to Fitzgerald ?
It was reported yesterday that Karl Rove's atty sent a letter to Fitzgerald asking if there was anymore information that he needed? Obviously hoping ot open up a line of communication with him, to see just how strong is his Republicanism and partisanship, or if he isreally serious about all this "legal" shit? If Fitzgerald does not cooperate, then they will have no choice but to destroy him also. They will use al their friends in the media to pursue the discrediting of Mr. Fitzgerald. It's his choice.

1. They can certaintly try.
But Fitzgerald is squeaky clean. It will only make them look stupid...more so.

2. We have no evidence whatsoever that Fitz is Republican or partisan

3. I think that is what the WH is trying to find out...
With the letters to him, etc...They are freaking out if he is not a partisan Republican.

19. Ha! Fitzgerald said "We'll get back to you"
The WH was hoping Fitzgerald would commit his position one way or another.

Didn't work.

6. Yes, he is a Republican, but
he may not be a partisan. The GOP thought about getting him to replace Ryan as a candidate for Illinois Senate seat vacated by Peter Fitzgerald.

Some Republicans were also hoping to interest Patrick Fitzgerald (no relation to the outgoing senator), an Illinois-based U.S. attorney.

13. Guy James said on his show that Fitzgerald was a Republican, but
non-partisan and very fair, just looking for the truth.

7. Bush can simply pardon Rove or anyone else convicted in the Plame case.
And he will. I wouldn't be suprised if Bush has pardons for the Plame case all ready to go already.

9. I guess it depends on whom else Fitzgerald implicates.
If it's Cheney and/or * we're in trouble.

5. The Right Wing Noise Machine has already started attacking Fitzgerald.
The WSJ called Fitzgerald an "unguided missle" on a witch hunt.

http://online.wsj.com/article_email/0,,SB112121058587983903-IJjeoNplaN4opyvZ4CHcKiFm5,00.html

Clearly, the WSJ is implying that Fitzgerald is out of control.

Of course, anyone directly tied to the White House is still maintaining an appearance of repect for Fitzgerald. Under the surface, however, the White House is probably seething with contempt for Fitzgerald and his refusal to follow its script.

8. Fitzgerald has already taken on the mob (Gambino conviction).
I'm sure he sharpened his teeth on that one. Now he can chew on the bush mob.

14. That WSJ comment probably will be picked up and repeated by other
right wing media as a factual and objective statement about Fitzgerald.

11. Will one brave reporter ask Scotty, "I hear Fitzgerald's wife works for
the CIA, could you ask rove if he's 'heard that too'?"

NOTE: I have no idea about anything regarding Fitzgerald including if he's even married. This is more a "gotcha" idea than based on reality(which the bush* admin doesn't do anyway)
