Here's a way to show the difference between the two parties. |
|
How about if we get our Democrats in Congress (in their off hours) to create a public-viewable simulated government? Although it would have not effect, they could go through the motions of passing the kind of bills, they would pass if they had the power and, then, at election time, compare the results of their bills with those passed by the Bush Congress. This is a way of saying to the public that, if the Democrats were in power, this would be a much better society. This way, it would be more than just words.

1. This would be a great idea |

in a High School civics class, but in the real world it just makes the DEMs look weak and powerless. Having to hold meetings in basement rooms in the Congress got a lot of coverage and a reprimand for Senselessbrenner. Let's keep it real, not staged, OK?

2. Its not exactly what you are proposing..... |

but I've often felt having a "Shadow Cabinet" would be an interesting idea. That way, the MSM knows exactly who to talk to on specific issues, your message becomes more coordinated through that cabinet, and it isn't a bad way to groom people for specific cabinet posts when we win in '08.
