CNN's Bill Schneider reporting. Bad news for the White House--75% think Karl Rove should be fired if he leaked classified information. Much lower than Dubya's bar today--will fire if anyone "committed a crime."

And 53% of the American people are closely following this Rove saga.

3. His "hard-core" base can barely read, let alone understand stats.
"25%, that's nearly half!" said Jimbob while polishing his goat.

4. Unlike the DSM, perhaps this is a "drama" the public can wrap
its mind around. Perhaps. A mystery, a bit of soap opera and a large cast of characters. A "whodunit."

5. This is definitely something that a lot of people will notice.
The DSM was basically just reinforcing something most people already knew, but have given Junior a pass on for a variety of (lousy) reasons--9/11 hysteria, benefit of doubt, Saddam had to go anyway, spreading democracy, etc.

But this case, exposing a CIA agent, from inside the WH, for a cheap political retaliation is more than most Americans would accept. There can't be any nice spin put on that. Plus, you have a real criminal investigation that doesn't appear to be a politically motivated persecution. The Bush cabal is in trouble on this one.
