I'm watching a bit on the Rove thing on CNN right now. They have Valenti doing the 'other side' and he's basically agreeing with everything the Republican Strategist is saying. I'm totally disgusted.

This man is not a Democrat - he's clearly a closet Republican who agrees with the entire spin the Republicans are cranking out.

:grr:

2. Yeah
I was watching that, and got the distinct impression that Valenti was trying to be diplomatic and conciliatory about the whole thing, while Holt was just toeing the party line, so that there was no clear voice for the left. This is what Republicans do; they rely on Democrats' instincts to be fair-minded to shift the debate towards their side.

3. I saw that! He should only be the Dem spokesman when the other side uses
Gallagher. What was with the exaggerated silk cravat? Ridiculous.

He tore the facts right out of the story and then let the Holt's points stand! He said that the Dem's were just involved in pay back for the election. :grr:

5. The whole rediculous thing is that they need to have 2 sides
with one just outright lying and not being called. Let them just report the facts of the case and not have people on to spin it. That's what CNN used to be before they were out fauxed.

But since he's a lobbyist, that doesn't surprise me.

10. Actually, Valenti was great today, and he nailed that pretty boy RNC guy,
Terry Holt, at the end by saying, "You carried that a little too far." Clinton, altho impeached, did not break the law, according to the Senate.

Valenti said this was indeed "all about politics"-- Rove had wielded the sharpest sword and wounded a lot of Democrats--but now it was "payback time." He reiterated later that "politics was a blood sport" and you could rest assdured if the shoe were on the other foot, the Republicans would be doing the same--like they did with Bill Clinton, in fact.
