Just joking. . .but isn't that what the Republican Talking Points keep saying -- that Joe Wilson is a Democrat Hack and is running for office or some such nonsense?

Please -- let Joe Wilson be Joe Wilson. He is not a candidate for President.

17. His appearance on Ed Schultz today
just solidified my high opinion of this guy. I don't see a down side. Yes, at one point he was a Republican but so was Wes Clark. And a demoralized Republican who has turned Democrat is a good thing! Hey, and St. Valerie (I mean that nicely)is also a good thing!

on in politics. I don't think he would ever want to throw himself into all the BS. But you never know?

Wouldn't that be the perfect poetic justice!!!!

Nominated.

21. Here is a guy that is really bi-partisan and
can talk calmly with both dems and republicans.

He is unequivocally for America's best interests... here is a link to chapter seven of his book I found online that outlines his heroics during the first Gulf War.

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4856568/

A true uniter not a divider.

He has my vote.

28. Absolutely!
He's worked in the Reagan, Bush, and Clinton administrations -- I think he's been nonpartisan until the fiasco with W in 2002. I don't know if he's registered democratic but he should definitely be drafted. Look at what he's got going for him (and for US):
Charisma. Gumption. Integrity. Brains. Good looks. And golly, he can do that diplomatic stuff, too.

30. Yep....
Clark's been paying with personal attacks and smears from this admin for a long time now (although they didn't attack his wife--thank God/Lowly ass bastards, these are). But I do think Clark's been paying all of the dues that many party purists required for quite some time.....so he gets first dibs, IMO.

VP to Loretta Sanchez! Clean, fiesty, and attractive Latino congresswoman with a track record at beating Incumbent Republicans in their very own district.

Wilson would be a great Secretary of state in a Clark admin. That admin would actually be believed by the rest of the world.

Now wouldn't that be something!

34. I love Wilson and he is a truth teller, but he's not a politician.
He'd be burried in a minute by the national politicians, much faster than they did Howard Dean. I honestly think, if Dean were to run again, he'd probably win. He's gotten a BIG education in the last few years.

Joe is a great man, and I respect him, and hope what he's done brings down this admin, but he will never be a major candidate for Pres. anytime soon.

the eyes, very nice looking wife, and they are both INTELLIGENT. How refreshing it would be to have 2 people in the WH who can actually put a sentence together. Please, Mr. Wilson, please run.

37. Big kick -- He is unafraid
This thought came to my mind when I heard him quote Benjamin Franklin on Ed Shultz -

He is very courageous, patriotic and articulate.

and he's not afraid of his own shadow, like so many democratic leaders come off these days.

Joe Wilson for President

Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 03:19 PM by Zorbuddha
I don't know if I can forgive him for that.

Aside from that, I don't recall being quite as impressed by anyone as such a stand-up guy in the face of such a situation as his. He gets my vote, and I suspect his wife is something special, as well.

I'm smitten with these people.

43. It goes to political leanings...
He doesn't owe me anything, but as far as being a hero (which he is in spades) this is a tough thing to dismiss entirely. He is terrific, like I said. And after all, John Dean is a HUGE hero IMHO...and he worked for Nixon, for crying out loud. So, yes...forgiveness is called for, but it seemed worth pointing out.
