Re: EDWARDS's Good Looks: I Can Relate
Senator EDWARDS has been harassed over being "young" although CLINTON and KENNEDY were younger when they ran and won------but most of all for being too good-looking. That is something I can relate to, the prejudice of being too good-looking. In fact, even my mother, who idolized me and probably spoiled me for this life, once devastatingly said to me, "You only got ahead because of your looks."

Nobody except John EDWARDS and me can attest that we good-looking people suffer for being ACCOMPLISHED yet good-looking. And I *will* submit my 8x10, as soon as somebody educates me on how to scan it in here. I've been dying to get my dogs's pics in here for a long while as well.

3. Oooh, I can't wait to see your headshot
Yeah, that scanning is pretty tricky. I'm really good looking too, and have a hard time with things that other people find ridiculously simple.

4. Hell, I've said before, in this country of ours...
...if it DOES come down to Kerry/Edwards, Edwards' campaigning should be limited to the following:

1. Come out on stage.
2. Say, "This race comes down to one thing."
3. Hold up headshots of both Kerry and Edwards.
4. Say, "Come ON."
5. Leave.
6. PROFIT!

Later.

7. At Least We Know That When a Mother Sez It
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 01:30 AM by UTUSN
It's writ in stone. And everybody takes a mother's word.

On Edit: It's a well known fact that us/we good-looking people are "scatter-brained" and don't know how to "do" things that ugly people know how to do, O.K.?, like scanning pics and all, O.K.? But I'm really good with punctuation, grammar, and stuff like that, O.K.?

11. Edwards' appearance
I guess Edwards is attractive enuff, if he would get all of the hunks of kleenex off his chin after shaving.

12. I agree with you--try being an attractive woman in business.
Uh--LOL....not that I am one (uh...I'm really not. In business that is!)...

This is SUCH a true and often ignored issue. Particularly with Edwards. I wonder how much more seriously he'd have been taken from the beginning if he looked like Tom Ridge or someone.

13. Although Edwards' good looks wouldn't be a remake of Camelot
it would come damn close.

In all honesty, even though I don't like that he voted in favor of the IWR, his good looks makes up for it with me because I still think he's damn electable. People like pretty people and even I cannot deny, Edwards' is a damn good looking man.

Hell, Ann Coulter may find herself swooning over Edwards' manliness when she steps inside that voting booth and accidentally puch the Good Senator's box! After all, she's so beside herself over such a plain looking neo-maxi zoom dweebie like Dumbya, that she won't be able to contain herself when a REAL man is running.

15. Hmmm...I think it's his young looks that some people have issues with.
So many people think he's aroun 40 when he's actually 53. Looking young is not always a good thing professionally.

I don't think good looks hold people back, but youthful looks can. How sad. I hope this doesn't happen for Edwards...I like him!

17. I'm continually mistaken for being 35
even though I'm 47.
and when I was 35, I looked like I was about 19.
Sometimes it's an advantage (you've got more insight from years than people give you credit for from your appearance); sometimes it's a disadvantage (people judge you by your looks and don't give you credit for your expeience if they don't know how old you really are)

I'm not going to say I'm good looking, but I know what it's like to look younger than you are.

Edwards looks to me to be his age, actually, but that's because I realize that in these modern times people who are 50 have not led as physically as hard of lives as people did even only a generation ago, so that they don't look as worn. There's a lot of people around 50 who don't look "50".

19. I feel your pain.
I am 47 years old. My wife of 24 years says I am "well on my way to looking like Walter Matthau" (when he was still alive, I presume), and my hair can best be described as "Columbo-esque".

Fortunately, my striking good looks don't overshadow my razor-sharp, lightning-quick wit or my Wesley Clark level intellect.

Lord, it's hard to be humble...

Maybe you should just run for office and be done with it. Your dog can act as surrogate wife. :D

Just kidding, really. I couldn't resist!!
