David Gergen on CNN: "There is now a dangerous cloud over the WH." |
|
And that Bush will probably move up his Supreme Court nomination pick to try and divert the media away from Karl Rove and Fitzgerald's investigation.

...so, this kind of a statement may reveal he has a new, more serious perspective.

11. Keep America Divided... |
|
...that seems to be the Republican philosophy.
Republicans know that IF they can keep America divided; they will stand.
They also know that IF America unites; the will FALL!
So, how can Republicans KEEP AMERICA DIVIDED? My guess would be to nominate Priscilla Owens to the Supreme Court!
Then Americans will be asking....Karl who?

that this is the beginning of the unraveling. I always believed this war would become the Chimp's undoing. Its not like this is going to be swept under the carpet.

7. I actually like Gergen. He's one of the few logical speakers |
|
we hear on the talking head shows.
I think he's right on the SCOTUS nomination, but it will only be a temporaty deversion. It's not going to stop Fitz and the GJ, and that's supposed to go on until Oct.

10. gergen isnt always the logical truth teller though he used to be better |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 07:26 PM by faithnotgreed
i do always want to hear what he is saying because he has been one of the only republicans who sometimes speaks logical truth though he is very cautious of saying anything too big
on edit: now that ive seen other posts on what gergen said i think the truth telling republican just became extinct last week he was saying there isnt any legal trouble how on earth can they keep saying this stuff

13. Temporary diversion, or surprising blow-back? |
|
What if, when the news goes real bad for the AWOL gang, they try a power move with the Supreme nominee, very hard right, but the nomination gets all bogged down with the burgeoning leak scandal?
I could go for that.

I think if Bush was looking for a moderate to conservative consensus candidated for the Supreme Court, David Gergen would be a good choice.

|
If they think Gonzales is too LW, what do you think they'd say about Gergen?
I'm not even sure David would consider the position. He's got a pretty nice life now, and why should he be tied down to a SCOTUS salary?

He can appoint who or whatever he wants. This is the real thing, IMO. Good luck dodging this bullet. I have a hunch that it goes up much higher than that prick Rove.

15. I saw Gergen on TV the other night |
|
and I thought he was going to have a seizure. I've never seen him look so freaked out. He was stammering and stuttering WH talking points as fast as he could spit, but you could see he was just doing it to try to keep everything from falling apart.
Come on David, tell the truth, you'll feel so much better if you do.

Four and a half years ain't much of a glorious reign.
All that fruitless, misplaced up-suckage, poor Gergen. Et al.

17. Gergen stated that Bush & WH are not in any legal trouble... |
|
just possibly political.
Oh really, Mr. Gergen, I didn't know you were privy to the details of Mr. Fitzgerald's investigation.
You don't have a clue whether the Bushies are in legal trouble or not... you'll have to wait just like the rest of us.
Some of you may like Mr. Gurgling, but from what I have seen of him (especially recently), he is just another B* apologist and rightwing mouthpiece. He cuts no ice with me! :puke:
