Republicans not buying Rove spin
know that this has already been blogged, but I want to focus on two key points on that Rove-themed ABC News poll.

First of all:

Should Karl Rove Be Fired If He Leaked Classified Information?
Yes No
All 75% 15%
Republicans 71 17
Independents 74 17
Democrats 83 12

And then this:

Skepticism about the administration's cooperation has jumped. As the initial investigation began in September 2003, nearly half the public, 47 percent, believed the White House was fully cooperating. That fell to 39 percent a few weeks later, and it's lower still, 25 percent, in this new ABC News poll.

This view is highly partisan; barely over a tenth of Democrats and just a quarter of independents think the White House is fully cooperating. That grows to 47 percent of Republicans -- much higher, but still under half in the president's own party. And doubt about the administration's cooperation has grown as much among Republicans -- by 22 points since September 2003 -- as it has among others.

2. It does not meet the definition of
Treason and can't be proven. I'll take a Felony punishable by 10 years in a Federal Prison. He would never survive.

No one wants to get the SOB more than I do but lets not over reach and have mud on our face.

I like Ted Rall but this is silly. Bushit & Co are just greedy opportunist ...and Rove is steering the ship. They didn't commit treason under the legal definition in the Constitution. ...they are just sociopath that send 1800 kids to their death. The threshold for treason is to high that even the Rosenberg's didn't makes it

3. Wouldn't know that from Freeperville.
THe latest scoop form Jeff "stud" Gannon is this is all a witch hunt to find the rogue element in the CIA that wants Bush out of office.......

Apparently he has believers.

the CIA ahs always been the goverments "boogeyman" for some good reasons, and for some not so good reasons.

REpub strategy #433590

Use average partially educated joe's predispositon of fear of the CIA to distract form the real story of our guilt and complicity in the ongoing violence we are incurring in IRAQ (not to mention our little deed on 9/11)

4. While I'm not a lurker in Free Republic, I have seen threads
that DUer's repost in here from there.

Those folks in freeper land are just a bunch of red neck idiots. Their home base/webbased site is from guess where? CALIFORNIA...Fresno area to be exact. Hotter than hell over there; the sun has baked their minds. There are so many displaced persons in that valley from places like Oklahoma, Tennesee, Upper Idaho, Texas, and all places RED. Tattoos, racists, druggies, skin heads--neo nazis, and some good people too....A LOT of "Churchies", dysfunctionals, alcoholics, and crime.

I live in Calif. and can tell you that that neck of the red-neck woods is a non starter.

The people to be very concerned about are those in High Places with this anti democratic mindset...like heads of corps, heads of church associations...people in power etc..

I hope rational republicans WILL see the problems we face and realize they are in danger too.

My 2, SB

5. The few freeper threads I've followed remind me of
a time, a system, and an economy which hasn't existed for decades. It's like they are in some time warp and have no touch with today's reality.

6. I am highly suspicious that there are only 10 of them...
and they each have multiple screen names and take turns posting idiotic blather from their parents basements...after they've had their fill of internet porn and Steven Segal movies. But that's just me.

11. LOL--->Steven Segal movies...
Of course Segal IS an environmentalist and a Buddhist.

Anyway, obviously it is a website and many of it's hits are from other states..not just Fresno. Hell, I was surprised to learn of a radio station that is the "sister" station to KGO..right in SF bay area that is RAVING RIGHT WING. KSFO Melanie somebody (can't remember her whole name just now) who, along with the entire station went on a number of rants about stopping the F/911 Film..stuff like that.

My State is under attack. :(

12. Not all R 's are as insidious as the neo-cons....
many R's are finally realizing that their party was hijacked by extreme RW'ers. Most of the R's i know are basically decent people, even if a little delusional. The support for bush has dried up here in NE. The extremists believe that bush can do no wrong, but they are a severe minority in the party; just a very vocal minority.

Traditional R's have been displaced, and some of their values are not necessarily out in Right Field. I don't agree with most of the R platform but there are some remnants of the Eisenhower era that are worth revisiting. If it were not for Eisenhower, we would most likely not have an Interstate system, and he was the one who called in Federal Marshals to ensure anti-segregation laws were enforced.

The Rove/bush/Cheney insanity is destroying the nation with it neo-con agenda. These fools have done nothing but polarize the nation into factions that compete for acknowledgment. Add to that the
"rubber stamp" attitude of the group that sees bush as an icon, and we have a pretty ugly scenario.

However, the R's with conscience are beginning to avoid the bush cabal like the plague. Only the Frist/DeLay faction will be left, and both of them are albatross' around the thick neck of bush.
