A good time to remember all those "liars" (satire)
One of the unavoidable dangers of the Rove scandal for the Bush White House is that it is completely inseparable from the issue of Bush's dubious case for war. Instead of distracting from the DSM and related stories, it buttresses the impression in the American mind that the Iraq War was unnecessary and initiated on fabricated claims.

So, with a little satire, let's remember all those liars of old who shamelessly tried to prevent Bush from saving us from Saddam's nuclear arsenal.

Meet the Liars

The People Leading the Reckless Charge Against President Bush and the War on Terror

While President Bush and his administration diligently continue the fight against terror around the world, many former and current government officials are waging a steady assault on Bush's credibility through self-serving lies. An unprecedented number of high-ranking officials from the Bush Administration and the intelligence community have publicly or anonymously criticized Bush's handling of the terrorist threat, and some go so far as to suggest Operation Iraqi Freedom is a war fought on deception by the Bush Administration. Let's meet just a few of these liars.

Michael Scheuer

CIA intelligence analyst of 22 years, Michael Scheuer anonymously authored a book entitled "Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror." Scheuer claims that the Iraq War was "an unprovoked war against a foe who posed no immediate threat." He also wrote, "There is nothing that bin Laden could have hoped for more than the American invasion and occupation of Iraq."

Scheuer speculated that Al Qaeda may have planned an attack on the United States before the presidential election to ensure a Bush victory: "I'm very sure can't have a better administration for them than the one they have now", and "One way to keep the Republicans in power is to mount an attack that would rally the country around the president." Even though Americans famously rallied behind President Bush after the 9/11 attacks, it's obvious that another attack would cause the nation to rally around Senator John Kerry. It should be considered likely that Scheuer is an Al Qaeda operative working within the CIA to weaken our nation with terrorist lies.

The 9/11 Commission

On June 16, 2004, the independent and bipartisan National Commission On Terrorist Attacks Upon The United States reported their conclusion that there is no evidence that Iraq and Osama Bin Laden's Al Qaeda terrorist network had a collaborative relationship. This is a direct contradiction to frequent statements made by President Bush, Vice President Cheney, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, and others in the Bush Administration. These blatant lies by the 9/11 Commission can only be an attempt to aid terrorists by hoping to diminish President Bush's credibility. As this commission is made up of Republicans as well as Liberals, let this be proof that liars can attack from all sides.

Richard Clarke

To date, the most infamous liar is former Counterterrorism Chief Richard Clarke. Clarke not only "exposed" how the Bush Administration was unresponsive to massive terrorist warnings in the summer of 2001, but also how they were fixated on Saddam Hussein after the attacks of 9-11 instead of the actual perpetrators of the attacks. His claims imply Bush used 9-11 as an excuse to occupy Iraq, a long-held goal of many in his administration, at the expense of addressing real terrorist threats.

Clarke supported Bush's candidacy in 2000, and his service in counterterrorism spanned four presidents from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush. Apparently, Clarke didn't think he could sell a book about his government service unless it was full of lies.

David Kay

As head of the U.S. Iraq Survey Group until his resignation in January 2004, David Kay led the search for Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Upon resigning, Kay said, "We are in grave danger of having destroyed our credibility internationally and domestically with regard to warning about future events. The answer is to admit you were wrong, and what I find most disturbing around Washington ... is the belief ... you can never admit you're wrong."

Kay's hidden liberal agenda became obvious when he said, "It's about confronting and coming clean with the American people ... should say: 'We were mistaken and I am determined to find out why'." This hysterical notion that the Bush Administration is "wrong" is a lie propagated by the liberal media. Kay's failure to find massive stockpiles of illegal weapons, which surely exist in Iraq, should prompt an investigation into the possibility that Kay deliberately sabotaged efforts to discover such weapons. At this time, Kay's reasons for lying are unclear.

The U.S. Department of State

President Bush's own State Department is assaulting his record in the War on Terror. Under the leadership of Colin Powell, the State Department revised a report it had issued in April 2004 showing that terrorist attacks had decreased from 2002 to 2003. The revised report instead shows that both the number of terrorist acts and victims of terror rose sharply in 2003.

President Bush has frequently said the world is safer from terror under his leadership. This report by the State Department directly contradicts these assertions. After such an assault of lies, President Bush may have considered his Secretary of State's loyalty to be highly questionable. Powell's motives for lying remain unfathomable, but he has thankfully resigned his post and is no longer capable of diminishing our nation's resolve.

Paul O'Neill

Bush's former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill was forced to resign in December 2002. O'Neill claims that seeking a way to invade Iraq was Bush's top priority at the very first National Security Council Meeting only ten days after his inauguration. Such an account severely undermines Bush's assertion that Iraq is part of the War on Terror in response to 9-11. O'Neill is clearly a disgruntled former employee that hopes to get back at his boss with vicious lies.

Karen Kwiatkowski

Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski served the United States for over twenty years, eventually as an Undersecretary for Policy in the office of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. It was in this capacity she claims to have witnessed first hand the workings of the Office of Special Plans, and how the neoconservatives within deliberately manipulated intelligence regarding Iraq to drive our country to unnecessary war. These are baseless and wild lies. Kwiatkowski's motive for lying is not yet known.

Rand Beers

A former marine, Rand Beers served the U.S. government for over thirty years, including positions within the National Security Councils of Presidents Ronald Reagan through George W. Bush only to resign just five days before the U.S. invaded Iraq. Beers called the Iraq War "ill-conceived" and criticized Bush's handling of everything from domestic security to Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia, and even suggested the invasion of Iraq was politically motivated.

Soon after his resignation, Beers joined the presidential campaign of Senator John Kerry determined to remove Bush from office. Richard Clarke is known to be a long-time friend of Beers. It is theorized within the White House that one of these men could have somehow infected the other with their lies.

Joseph Wilson

Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson was sent to Africa by the CIA in 2002 to investigate reports that Iraq attempted to purchase nuclear material from Niger. After President Bush included this claim in his 2003 State of the Union Address to gain public support for war, Wilson informed the press that his report to the Bush Administration a year earlier discredited this claim. Wilson is a liar. His motive is not known for sure, but he may have desired fame and decided lying about our president was the best way to achieve it.

Wesley Clark

General Wesley Clark, now retired and an analyst for CNN, said he received a call on 9-11 telling him to link Saddam Hussein to the attacks, even without evidence of such a link. Clark's implication was that this call came from the White House or people close to the White House. Clark described a "concerted effort ... to pin 9-11 and the terrorism problem on Saddam Hussein." He also expressed before Congress a worry by many that an invasion of Iraq would "super-charge recruiting for Al Qaeda."

His later run for the Democratic presidential ticket proves his hidden liberal agenda beyond a doubt. General Clark is the former Supreme Allied Commander of Europe and highly decorated for combat and service to the United States in many capacities. Now he's just a rotten liberal liar. Clark's lies were obviously nothing more than an attempt to aid his presidential aspirations.

Greg Thielmann

Thielmann is a former analyst who headed the review of intelligence regarding alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq for Secretary of State Colin Powell. Thielmann charges that the Bush Administration knowingly misrepresented the Iraqi threat to the public to make their case for war. Thielmann referred to Powell's U.N. speech regarding Iraqi weapons as "one of the low points in long, distinguished service to the nation." Thielmann's motive for these lies is not yet known.

Christian Westermann

A senior biological and chemical expert for the State Department Bureau of Intelligence and Research, Westermann claimed he was pressured by Undersecretary of State John Bolton to distort his intelligence findings on Iraq to fit public claims made by the Bush Administration. Like Thielmann, Westermann's reasons for lying are unknown. No matter what their motivation, the State Department must improve its screening process to prevent the hiring of any more compulsive liars.

Anthony Zinni

Until 2000, now retired Marine Corps General Anthony Zinni was Chief of Central Command, the U.S. military headquarters for the Middle East. He continued in a consulting position for the CIA and the military until the invasion of Iraq. Zinni has accused the Bush Administration of recklessly charging into Iraq with questionable motives and poor strategy.

A few of General Zinni's lies about the Bush Administration: "Our policy, strategy, tactics, et cetera, are still screwed up." Referring to the Bush Administration and Iraq: "These guys don't understand what they are getting into," and, "These guys don't have a clue." Concerning the Iraqi threat: "It was a pain in the ass, but was contained. He had a deteriorated military. He wasn't a threat to the region." And most pointedly: "I think the American people were conned into this." Zinni's motive for lying is unclear.

Flynt Leverett

Former Senior Director for Middle East Affairs on George W. Bush's National Security Council, Flynt Leverett criticized Bush's rush to Iraq and implied it hindered efforts against Al Qaeda. Leverett charges that Bush pulled vital CIA and Special Forces personnel away from the hunt for Al Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan, including Bin Laden, and set them to work on Iraq. Referring to criticism by Richard Clarke, Leverett said: "Clarke's critique of administration decision-making and how it did not balance the imperative of finishing the job against Al Qaeda versus what they wanted to do in Iraq is absolutely on the money."

This verbal alignment to Clarke is proof enough that Leverett is a liar. Leverett adds that even if Bin Laden is caught, it is two years too late as Al Qaeda has adapted by now to make his capture inconsequential to their operations. Leverett's motive for lying is unknown.

The Army War College

In January 2004, the Army War College published a report full of lies criticizing Bush's War in Iraq as "unnecessary" and that it "diverted attention and resources" away from the War on Terror. The Army War College trains military and civilian personnel in land-based military strategy. The lies of this institution are dangerous indeed, as they could contaminate the thinking of future military leaders and policymakers.

The above are perhaps the most troubling examples of high-placed officials who have, for one reason or another, publicly denounced Bush's noble efforts in the War on Terror with vicious lies. Although the motive for most of these liars is unknown, they could be pursuing book deals or formerly auditioning for positions with the Kerry presidential campaign. Many more liars within the Bush Administration and the intelligence community have made similar criticism anonymously.

Americans know that President Bush restored honesty and integrity to the White House. Nevertheless, this campaign of lies is causing many to doubt our beloved president's stated reasons for invading Iraq. These liars would have us believe President Bush and his administration deceived us into a war that has killed over fifteen hundred U.S. and coalition soldiers, killed perhaps a hundred thousand innocent Iraqis, wounded and destroyed the lives of countless thousands more, left our country vulnerable to more terrorist attacks, and continues to cost our country billions of dollars. This is simply unthinkable.

Democratic hack Michael Goldman said, "This administration has shown a tremendous ability to demonize its opponents. But at some point, people start to ask themselves, could all these people be pathological liars? At some point, they can't all be liars." Goldman is simply just another liar.

On the contrary, it is obvious that every single one of the people mentioned above, and dozens more that have gone public or remain anonymous, are all lying. These liars must be exposed and held accountable for the aid they provide terrorists and the damage they inflict on America's resolve.

4. The only people who aren't "liars" are the Republican bobble headed dolls.
The "if you aren't with us and agree with us 200%, you're a dirty liberal liar" crowd. I am so tired of these insecure, power hungry, approval seeking idiots.
