my shocking New Hampshire prediction! |
|
It sounds crazy, but I see a Dean squeaker over Edwards, with Kerry third.

1. As i said before, tell me you have a good reason for thinking this. |
|
i actually think that Dean is winnin over the crowds that are coming to see him. How could he not, the man has plenty of good things to say.

11. Nothing wrong with positive thinking! |

I hope Dean does well......I'd like to see the whole damn race continue up to the convention.
With Kerry winning, of course!

Can't say I agree. The polls just don't seem to back up your prediction.... granted, things can change, but the NH primary is less than 48 hours away. I really just don't see Dean coming back from a 9-18 point deficit in such a short span. Further conceded, then, NH polls are not that accurate. Let me then offer another counterargument-- Kerry has really tightened up his message, and has become quite the charismatic, quick tongued speaker. I saw him today on the morning talk shows-- he was excellent, having cast aside the old-windbag academic style has that plagued him throughout his campaign. He's spot on, and he's saying what needs to be said. Now, that used to be Deans forte. Still is, to some degree. But the fuel behind Dean's fire has always been anger, and it seems to me that (post I-have-a-scream) the voters are beginning to tire of it. I suspect that Dean himself seems to have tired of it. He just doesn't have the edge to his arguments that he used to.... his shtick has become more of a blunt rage, dulled by habit and repetition. It's become stale; though his faithful will never leave him, he's having trouble signing on new voters. Though I think he'll recover some of the votes he lost to the scream, I don't think he'll pick up any new ones. The undecided territory belongs to Edwards and to Kerry. Clark, perhaps... but not Dean.

4. 8000 signed up to his website today |

and Kerry's message has been lifted word for word from Dean. I witnessed it myself on Headline news today.

7. He had 600,000, and lost roughly 15% or possibly much more since last |
|
Monday night. he need to add 90,000 just to get him back where he was last Monday, and even that clearly wasn't enough to get more than 18% in IA.

Unless, of course, Kerry goes nuts with a crazy, red-faced rant on live television.

Getting up out of a chair leaves Ted red-faced.

9. And I'll raise you one hypothetical.... |
|
Hmmm... If Kerry *were* to noticably drop in the polls prior to Tuesday morning, shrinking his lead further or even falling behind the leader, it's quite possible that the "he's electable" crowd will switch to another candidate when they hit the booths.
Dr Dean's rebound may also create some fresh skepticism.
I won't make a prediction as to which general... er..candidate.. might benefit most. :)
