Democrat: "Given this administration's history, I'm not surprised." |
|
Why haven't I heard this? Or am I just not listening considering I'm out of the cable news loop?
With all of this Karl Rove stuff (about to be completely forgotten by America), it seems party leaders were all about getting him fired. Why? You think he won't run things anyway? You think there is no more dangerous job for him outside the administration?
During the Clinton administration, republicans did an excellent job of linking all scandals--minor or not to a "Slick Willy." With a "see you can't trust him" or "they've taken honor out of the White House." Isn't George slick? (okay a stretch) But hasn't he taken the honor from the White House?
Given the litany of crap from this administration from the coke charges of 2000, the election fraud, 9-11 ignorance, the war(s), oh yeah, more election fraud, the Plame leak...shouldn't THIS be all I'm hearing: "Well, what can we expect anymore? It is a dishonest administration the American people are stuck with till 2008(9), but we'll keep working to help people through these trying times."
Or am I wrong?

If we get off the issue, it will look like a smear campaign.
Best thing to do right now is sit back, talk about SCOUTS, and wait for the inditements to come.

Bush, BushCo and the Oil Republicans are all sleazy and corrupt. they have been stealing elections, they failed on 9/11 (LIHOP), and they led us into an oil war on a pack of WMD lies. Nearly 1,800 of our sons and daughters have died due to their lies. Time to turn the bums out.

Like Watergate, this probably goes right up to the oval office. I got to hang on to some hope that the moron will be impeached.;-)

4. I tend to agree with you but |
|
my non-political friends have no idea (1) who Karl Rove is, (2) what he did, and (3) why it is so bad. I educate, but the response tends to be, "that sucks dude...he should totally be fired...whose got the next round of beers?"
I'm not saying we shouldn't still keep the heat on the issue, I just want us to establish this latest incident as part of a continued pattern of lying more clearly tan we are now.

6. The buck is not going all of the way to the President. Bush |
|
is catching a break; not really being blamed for what is going on in his administration, because no one (and I do mean no one - not most Dems, not Repugs, not Congress, not the media) thinks that he is in charge or capable of being in charge.
As everyone, but the folks here on DU, allows him this break the factor of his inability to govern is just accepted without giving it a thought. I stupidly thought that after Clinton the people would never allow such an idiot (like Reagan) to be President again. I thought Clinton had raised the bar soo high that subsequent Presidents would have a hard time matching up. Now I realize that if you are smart you get blamed for everything in your administration. If you are stupid and ignorant you are blamed for nothing.
