I'm shocked no one is talking about the most incredible part of the Rove
affair.....that the Grand Jury is composed of mainly African American females!!!

Is there NO ONE here that understands the implication of this?

Bush, a man that got where he is today by stepping on the backs of blacks all around the country, now has to deal with the fact that the very race that he burned, now has the power to take him down completely.

Ain't God grand?

To be even MORE direct, there is NO ONE in the African American community more reviled, hated, and despised than one George W Bush.

Or anyone connected to George W. Bush.

Cooper said that he was "grilled" by these women for 2 1/2 hours and they weren't playing around either.

I know it.

If there is a way to nail them on anything, they will do it and not think 2wice about it.

Rove's a goner (and Bush better watch out as well)unless he tampers with that jury; which I wouldn't put past him.

I cannot wait to see how this plays out.

12. IIRC in trials like these
The Supreme Court acts as the judge and the Senate as the jury.

Bush himself is a puppet anyway, so Fitzgerald can indeed take out the AEI cabal.

so much about their country and fellow citizens that they intend to uncover the truth no matter what.

8. Yes, it was in Cooper's article.
"The grand jury, Cooper writes, somewhat reflected the demographics of the District of Columbia. The majority were African-American women and disproportionately women. He writes that one third of his 2 1/2 hours of testimony was spent answering their questions, not the prosecutor’s, although he posed them on their behalf. "

7. On the downside
These brave patriots will probably face the Karl Rove Republican smear machine. On the other hand, they'll have the law on their side.

17. I believe that if he is indicted, he will face a trial in a Federal court.
With a sitting jury comprised of DC residents. I believe you are mistaking this with an impeachment.

Republicans will be claiming it was a racial event and had no basis in Law using the OJ verdict as their evidence. They just refuse to accept Blacks are actually people too.

20. Website explains what a Grand Jury does & how indictments are determined
Here's the site.

Sounds like the OP is right. Rove's indictments will be determined by a group of African American women.

of Latino males, WASP females, or left-handed transgendered Asian males.

Look at the data, apply the law as they're told, and come to the same conclusion that any other group would come to.

This is only "news" because of an assumption that they "vote" or "think" differently, or allow their biases free rein.

23. WOW. This is Fabulous!!
It has been blacks - J Conyers, B Lee, etc., who have played a key role in seeking justice during Bush's tenure. They are the true heros who believe in the dream of America and are living up to the legacy of those who over the past century have sacrified their lives for the fight for freedom.

You go sisters!!!!!!!!!!!!

that can see this administration for what it truly is. At least they've done most of the protesting against * so far, EVEN BEFORE IT WAS COOL to do so. But they are not biased against him. They simply have the facts and are not blinded by the BS.

they can 'smell' a lie a mile away. They have lived with the lies of politicians, bosses, etc. their entire lives, so can detect it much more easily.

26. only the black caucus protested the 2000 vote verification...news media
OF COURSE, said the only people concerned were black Americans....IOW, the whole thing is totally irrelevant....

someone on a webpage wrote an article along the lines of 'gee, I'm upset...so I must be black...and I never even knew it'

anyone remember this and have a link?????????

I think there was a DU thread on this; each poster started out along the lines of 'I just found out I'm black'

32. It's all so sweet so many ways! Rove's talent and ruthlessness
got him and W. to the top of the heap, but it was the exercise of these qualities mixed with the inevitable hubris of their existence that will bring him down. And this is further ironic when we realize that he is exercising his all his talents now to engineer his won demise, that it might do as little damage as possible. Literature follows life.
