Whatever happened with Tom Delay? Is he forgiven/forgotten?
Think back a few mega-scandals in the Theo-Con camp...before the torture-justifying, Roe-overturning, fry-arresting SCOTUS nominee...before the Press got a spine and went after the insidious traitor Karl Rove...before the revelation of the Downing street Memo wherein was contained proof that we had been lied to and manipulated into war...before all that there was a big stink about this fellow Tom Delay.

Now is that still going on somewhere in the real world, or has it all just blow over and everything has been forgotten and Delay is skulking and scamming and sliming around just as he always was, bruised but basically unharmed?

Does anyone know that status of Delay-gate?

1. I know some of that Abramoff stuff has been diverted to
Conrad Burns, but as far as I know DeLay is still being investigated. I think the news has just been hitting bigger things. Not sure on the status of it all though. Good question.

2. scandal fatigue
There are so many scandals ongoing we can't keep up with them all. Where's that army of 17000 lawyers again?

3. Let's hope it stays on ice for about another six months...
...let's have Delay return to the fore sometime in 2006.

My dream:

Jan/Feb 2006: Hearings announced
Mar/Arp: Hearings commence
May/Jun: Deliberation
Jul/Aug: Recommendations go public
Sep/Oct: Punishment

Of course my dream is based on an almost total ignorance of House Ethics Committee timetables and expediency...but dreams ain't supposed to be real, they simply are :).
