Ask Sandra Day O'Connor to rescind resignation? |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 09:12 AM by rateyes
I saw somewhere on TV yesterday that Sandra Day O'Connoris upset that Bush didn't nominate a woman to take her place. Something to the effect of "Yeah, he's qualified, but he's not a woman." I wonder if she got messages from 75,000 DUers begging her to rescind her resignation and stay on the court, if it would have any effect? Waiting for your thoughts.

1. No, I don't think it would change her mind. |

Her husband is very ill, and I believe that's the reason she's stepping down.

4. I understand that, but |

for her, it might have the effect of feeling that her ego has been boosted--don't know. I know it's a crazy idea--but, sometimes crazy ideas, when implemented work. Just my opinion, though--which along with $1.00 still only buys a cup of coffee.

3. Yeah, I know--but court doesn't take up again until |

October, and wonder what making sacrifices "for the good of the country" argument might do.
