2006 election Every Republican Congressman is Vulnerable on Plame Stance
Many Republican congressman and senators are vulnerable because of their stance on
Traitor-gate. When the indictments come down and the full implications of the damage to the nation's intelligence gathering community is finally brought out in public, and it will,
their stances on using it as political purposes smears on the Plame affair, or their denying and inactions of the implications of this affair makes themselves accomplices to the damage caused to the intelligence gathering community, and a co-conspirator to treason-gate.

This is an important political fact, for many are on public record taking the wrong stance on this. Watergate happened because Republicans saw the damage Nixon did
to their integrity of the party (if ever had it). This time they didn't and should and will pay dearly.

1. "full implications"?
The only results from this investigation will be perjury or obstruction of justice or both. At most there will only be 2 people charged with anything.

You think only 2 people will be contained by the stench of this?

52. I think you guys are making a mistake aligning yourselves with the CIA
The CIA is not a popular organization among most people. It is rightfully viewed with suspicion and distrust. If you think that people are going to vote on whether a CIA operative was outed or not you're going to be sorely dissapointed.

Further, where are our morals if we will go to the lengths of actually defending the CIA as an organization simply to get Karl Rove prosecuted. I've had enough of all this talk about how important the CIA is to "our national security," and how brave these criminals are. Basically people are engaged in defending one criminal enteprise to damage another.

This is how they get people running in circles.

On another note, Rove being prosecuted (if it happens) will take at least a year maybe longer. If he is prosecuted he may not be convicted. If he's convicted the Bushies are still going to be in power, and in a position to start another war, and put fascists on the Supreme Court.

And if people think this is some kind of road to impeachment, they should really think about what it takes to get impeachment going and then who's going to be left in power if it's successful (which would be highly unlikely given the composition of Congress).

In the midst of all this the Bush regime is tightening its control and solidifying its fascistic agenda.

From national ID Cards: http://www.epic.org/privacy/id_cards/

There's the Patriot Act, Torture, Spying on peaceful citizens and groups like the ACLU and Greenpeace, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the bankruptcy bill, the christian fundamentalist upsurge, the neocons, the anti-immigrant militias, etc.

The World Can't Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime!

Jingle: "He used to be a caveman,

I wish as much as anyone else here that this guy got a fat sentence to go to jail, BUT I don't have to repeat mantras to myself - or to anyone here - to show that I'm a democrat.

Is it pointless for me to post if I'm being a realist on most issues? I'd prefer sensible discussion that go get 'em statements. If this preference is not shared, please let me know.

"ONLY!?!" As an American that's insulted. And trust me, I'm one of the kinder souls on this posting board. While tons of American tax-dollars were spent to get Clinton out while all, and yes I say "all" he did was what any man would have done, he lied about consenting sex with an adult -- at that, women, too.

How many Republican Congressional members and their blind-mice supporters are without sin?

So please, do not insult my GGGGGGGG-uncles whom signed the very piece of paper that gave you your freedoms, liberties and independence you're enjoying right here, right now, thanks to his signature, of which he and others so declared.

He's certainly tired of rolling over in his grave right now.

Edited on Sat Jul-23-05 04:28 PM by calimary
there were quite a few players in this. I hope you're wrong about only two people charged with anything.

I can't help but suspect that since bush's and cheney's right-hand men have their asses in a sling over this, it is NOT possible that their bosses were completely clueless about this. Furthermore, when you consider what a pissy little vindictive twat bush is, I'd imagine there were days in the White House where he was giggling like a school girl when he thought about what his good buddy turdblossom was up to.

Unfortunately, they'll also get pardoned on their way up the river, so they won't have to get their little hands dirty. Sigh... I don't want to wait until the afterlife to see these guys get their comeuppance. I want to see it NOW. In the next few months. Leading up to the 2006 elections, when we take back the House and maybe the Senate; the MSM talks endlessly about the republi-CON blood bath; the CONS themselves are jolted, stunned, demoralized, and caught completely flat-footed; NOBODY in their "right" minds will admit to ever having voted republi-CON; and IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDINGS get rolling. It would be lovely to be able to point to all this at some later date and explain to our kids that - "you see, crime REALLY DOESN'T pay. Even the biggest of the bigshots has to face justice if they've done something wrong." That's what I want to see.

And BTW - Welcome to DU! Not sure what to make of you, but if you want to be one of the Good Guys and battle the dark siders, you've found a good home here.

What you need to do is put pressure on his biggest donors in his district to put pressure on him. Any contact you might have there would help out, as long as they can call and identify themselves with whatever large donor company they work for.

23. We need a coordinator...

...someone with access to a wiki or other colaborative system.

Imagine a giant table. Along one side, various media issues (Rove, Coingate, Schiavo, Delay, etc.) Along the other side, names of representatives and talking heads. In the chart, a list of the place and time of everything they ever said about it. From that, links to video as time/effort permits.

Go along one axis, and you have a "hit peice" on that person, showing all the stupid stuff they have said. Go along the other axis, and you have a "usual suspects list" showing all the usual suspects parroting RNC talking points.

I can't coordinate it though -- I have time now to put a bit of legwork in, but expect to be wage slaving again soon and cannot take on the committment.

Smoke your own, if you've got one, or adopt one if you don't, but don't let them hide from treason-gate. The other part of this, and this applies to dems as well, is aren't they upset now that they know they were mislead into supporting war? I think before this is over GOPers will support impeachment rather than face angry voters at home.

"Johnson, who said he is a registered Republican, said he wished a GOP lawmaker would have the courage to stand up and "call the ugly dog the ugly dog."

"Where are these men and women with any integrity to speak out against this?" Johnson asked. "I expect better behavior out of Republicans."

"I wouldn't be here this morning if President Bush had done the one thing required of him as commander in chief - protect and defend the Constitution," said Larry Johnson, a former CIA analyst. "The minute that Valerie Plame's identity was outed, he should have delivered a strict and strong message to his employees."
