Brit Hume: "Liberal bias" on reporting from Iraq Body Count (IBC) Web Site
IBC Bias?
Thursday, July 21, 2005
By Brit Hume

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,163281,00.html

A group calling itself "Iraq Body Count," or IBC (http://www.iraqbodycount.net/), estimates that nearly 25,000 civilians were killed in the two years following the U.S. invasion of Iraq — a figure picked up by Reuters, CNN and the BBC.

But those reports never mention that IBC arrived at its figure by adding up casualties tallied by all sorts of organizations, including the left wing CommonDreams.org (search) and Al Jazeera.

What's more, IBC counts Iraqis killed in murders and terrorist attacks, saying "The burden of responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of those who initiate war without U.N. Security Council authorization."

News reports also failed to note that IBC's co-founder and principal researcher has written for a self-described "leftist newsletter," and many contributors are members of left-leaning anti-war groups.

1. OK, Hume you fucknuts, what's the real count?
Would 20,000 be enough for you? How about 15,000? What's the "fair and balanced number"? Why don't you "report" that?

He doesn't mention other "liberal" groups like Johns Hopkins and Lancet have the total over 100,000.

2. You realize
that eventually they'll get around to announcing that absolutely no one at all was ever killed?

And that Iraqis really did greet the invaders with flowers and dancing but that the darned 'librul' media never reported it?

4. All of which is MUCH more evil....
...than the "Fair and Balanced" MSM describing Abu Gharaib as "fraternity Pranks". Oh well, I guess we'll see which is which when the pictures (rumored to contain anal rape of a child) are released this afternoon, 22 days late (not that it means anything that it took an EXTRA 3 weeks to cut out all the "naughty Bits). As my favorite T-shirt reads, "DIE YUPPIE SCUM!"....

But those reports never mention that IBC arrived at its figure by adding up casualties tallied by all sorts of organizations, including the left wing CommonDreams.org (search) and Al Jazeera.

So how many RIGHT wing orgs did IBC check with? He fails to mention that. Maybe they were "Fair and Balanced" and looked at both right and left.

What's more, IBC counts Iraqis killed in murders and terrorist attacks

This is true. It ALSO breaks down the results in % points the death toll from criminal activity, US action and insurgents.

What a bunch of filfth

9. Given that:
the US Military reports US dead and wounded at 15,156 ( http://icasualties.org/oif/ ), I think 25,000 Iraqi casualties sounds WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY too low...
