McCain made a statement on Hardball the other night which I've heard other RTLers use about science being able to enable really premature infants to survive now and his opposition to choice is based partially on this. Yet many of the RTlers argue against the use of science in stem cell research to prolong life at the other end. Dare we point out to them their lack of consistency about the importance of science and life?

Micro preemies' face host of long-term problems, study finds

CHICAGO - (KRT) - Even when they escape devastating complications such as cerebral palsy or mental retardation, the tiniest of premature babies - those weighing 2 pounds or less at birth - often have significant "invisible" disabilities when they enter school, researchers reported this week.

Many of these children have cognitive or emotional delays and problems communicating, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. These "micro preemies" also often need special help in classrooms, are delayed academically and have trouble interacting socially with their peers as they begin to mature.

The findings confirm a disappointing reality: Although doctors save more tiny babies than ever before, medicine has not succeeded in improving future outcomes for many of these children...

don't care about the babies once they are born. They only want them to be born. Someone here called them "fetus worshippers" and I think that is an apt name for this type of RTLer.

They don't give a flying f%&$ after they are born...look how many owe back child support, or how they underfund programs for new mothers. They don't care...and they never will.
