Did Dems Have Control of House/Senate.... |
from Clinton's inaugural in Jan. '93 until the '94 midterms? Can anyone verify this? I could swear that was the case. And I certainly don't recall any calls for eliminating the filibuster. Just thought a comparison of behaviors is in order, to give perspective.

3. Changing the filibuster, yes |
I think that's the right time period. Under Dole, the Pubs went filibuster crazy. The Dems suggested changing the rules, sort of a phase out filibuster. That's the time period where they got some of those Dem quotes on the filibuster, earlier this year. I think that's all correct, pretty sure.

4. But how far did it go? |
I mean, it's still on the table to eliminate it now.

5. Legislation was introduced |
It's been debated several times, even with the recent filibuster stuff. Every so many days, the number required for cloture is reduced, until a 51 majority is all it takes. It never passes, so I don't think anybody really wants to change the filibuster rules.
