8. Oh boy. I just want to say that a crew of Canadian Sadists were in

Somalia and told to ruff up the teenagers & young adults who were running into the canadian camp - causing great security risk - to steal stuff.

So the a sadist was in charge of a crew one night. And they did horrible things. And a kid died. And it was a tragedy. And an investigation ensued. And suicides were attempted. And there was an investigation. And that unit - one of the oldest ones.. was disbanded.

I am only saying this to remind you that sadists can be found anywhere. And in times of war - they will do what sadists do and hurt people. And it is up to the chain of command to know this and teach against this and enforce regulations and send clear messages.

I am sorry. This stuff happens. I shudder to think of the people who will riot in the ME. And the people who will be killed by that anger. I would say that since it was a crime - perhaps the photos should not be shown. But a public trial take place. Public in every way - except for the photos.

Just an idea. To save a few lives. Treat it like you would any other criminal trial and hide the photos except for in the courtroom.

I don't want to see more people pay with their lives for the horrid leadership at the WH.

I posted this before, it dropped like a rock. We've got to get behind this.

Leading Democrats called for an Independent Commission to investigate US policies and practices towards detainees along with alleged abuse. The Levin Amendment will create the Commission and will be introduced as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act. Sens. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., John Rockefeller, D-W.V., and Jack Reed, D-R.I., joined Senator Levin who stated, “We are calling for an Independent Commission on the Treatment of Detainees because the Defense Department has shown that it is not capable of investigating itself,” said Levin. “The most serious scandal in recent military history needs an objective investigation.”

The release of pictures and videos to the US District Court in Manhattan was delayed as the government argued that it would violate the Geneva Conventions by subjecting the detainees to humiliation and embarrassment. These are among the pictures that Saxby Chambliss said showed troops "forcing Iraqis to commit sexual acts, and seeming to enjoy what they were doing.” That were apparently so bad that, according to Chambliss, “My stomach gave out.”

The Commission will cover laws and policies relating to detention or interrogation of detainees, including rendition to foreign countries; the role of military and civilian leaders, Armed Forces special operations, intelligence agencies and government and private contract employees; ascertain interrogation techniques, polices and practices; as well as how policies were formulated and implemented.
