Salazar not heading the Senate Hispanic outreach but Lieberman is.

Along with Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico.

Salazar is the only Hispanic senator. Yet, here is the pretzel logic that explains Lieberman heading this committee.

Lieberman and Bingaman are up for re-election in 2006 and need to build support among Hispanic voters, while Salazar doesn't have to run for five years and already enjoys great support from Hispanics. "Inside the Capitol building, it makes sense," Duffy said. "Outside the Capitol building, it makes no sense."

And we (or at least I) wonder how the Democrats manage to shoot themselves in the foot, over and over? It's rationales based on "inside the beltway" agendas. MKJ
