On CSPAN: Rep. Markey furious that Dems are not included in discussion
of tax provisions at end of Energy Bill joint session, which just concluded.

He said Dingel not invited to the session where tax provision discussion and amendments are brought forward.

1. Frequent habit of the Repugs in Congress.....
To lock the Democrats out of the debate, and also prevent them from bringing forward various amendments.

2. Vote against it
Democrats need to get a lot smarter. Every time a Republican proposal is developed, with the deliberate exclusion of Democrats, every one of our representatives need to vote against it every time, for that reason, including fillibuster.

4. I heartily agree...
filibuster every damned thing the Repukes put forward that they don't work on with the Dems. Hell, the Dems represent a larger part of the population, even if they are in the minority. Don't let anything get through, including any nominations to any court. Filibuster Roberts---the EXTRAORDINARY circumstances being that his wife is an elected leader of "feminists for life"-- (as in strongly anti-abortion)---have some guts. Make the Repukes show the world how damned stupid and unreasonable they all are.

3. I saw that....
Lemme kneaux if I got this wrong....

Barton was asked by Rep. Edward Markey about the Bill being kept secret until after it passed, "...it looks bad...we can't see final bill...Ways and Means Republicans don't want to show what's in the bill."

Barton:
"Simply following the instructions I've been given by the Speaker of the House." "The chair is just being honest."

? R-FLA..."write a letter to the speaker..." (addressed to Markey)

Markey...(cut off by Barton and his gavel, closing session.)
"Charlie Rangel doesn't know where the room is, he wasn't invited."
(I coulda sworn he said Rangel but I stand corrected if it was Dingell.)

earlier...odd...
Whining by Pete Domenici about his attire, no time to change; how hot it was and how he couldn't stand it anymore. (Wearing a sport shirt) and bizarre Burton said, "Message to the Senate, we have the room bugged and under surveillance, just kidding."
I don't know the room to which Barton was referring.

5. yes, he said Rangel, stand corrected.
I only saw the end of it. Domenici was probably playing golf....

But Barton first said they won't see the provisions until it's on the House and Senate floor.
Then he said, he did not know, he is not in charge of it.

again, the bulldozing of Dems!

6. All the Democrats need to start making their respective legislative
bodies play by the rules. Every rule every time. Roll call votes on everything. Every time every step of the way. Enough with the fools chasing the center. You never get there. When is someone going to stand on principle?

7. What do they expect?
Continuing to cave to Repubs in Congress only makes them bolder.
