Who will be the first GOPer to come out and demand answers on Plamegate? |
|
Remember, Nixon was foisted out by Republicans after the scandal got so big. Who will be the first GOPer to come out once the wheels start coming off?

6. Still not close enough to the '06 elections. |
|
If this thing is still going a few months down the road (and the way its heating up so far, I can't see how it could die down and go away), we should start seeing a few Repugs worried about becoming private citizens in '07 who will stick their necks out. All it will take is for them to see that covering their own ass is more important that covering this administration's ass.
In the meantime, keep it kicked and keep the heat turned up to high.

I bet old Arlen has had it up to his eyeballs with the bush white house. Threats about his work on the judiciary committee; battles with stem cell research. The guy has cancer, what are they going to do to him? He's not up for reelection and probably doesn't really care. I can't imagine bush having any bonafide friends in congress/senate, just those afraid of him. He's just like limbaugh, no friends, no social life, no life of any kind that doesn't involve lies and hate and some sort of chemical stimulation. It truly does suck being a conservative.

12. This is a TOP LEVEL question. |
|
Only when the Republican congressional leadership come to W. (maybe even after indictiments) and tell him how retention of Rove is harming the party will W. even consider ridding himself of his brain (tumor). His personality is dependent upon Rove's presence, and the longer he holds on the better for us.
But the indictments ARE coming!
I say this because in learning about multiple leakers for the 6 reported contacts and 3 confirming sources (, some confirmend more than once since we were told on Friday of 11 contacts in all), it becomes apparent what occurred. One administrative official discovered the Plame-Wilson-Niger relationship, took it to the White House Iraq Group, turned it over to Rove, who on the spot assigned tasks to different primary leakers/sources assuring no source called another source's contact (so as not to appear too eager), that no source's "pitch" was exactly the same but that their information was all given in an "off hand" manner (e.g., "Don't go too far out on this Wilson thing, I don't want you burnt").
Simply "doing the numbers" has told me this all along, but as new information comes out my analysis is being confirmed. We knew there were at least 6 initial leaks/contacts. Now we know that there were at least three different initial leakers (Fleicher Rove, Libby) and of the 6 reporters 4 are confirmed as Miller, Novak, Cooper, and Pincus. We also realize that there must have been a number of other confirming sources (because you cannot assure who the reporter will call for confirmation).
A master-mind would have been necessary to coordinate all these calls by different people AND would have to insure that a number of other officials were ready and willing to confirm the initial leaks.
They would have gone to Rove immediately and he, probably in an emergency of the White House Iraq Group, assigned the roles, the stories and the stances, etc.
So he not only leaked by was the mastermind of a conspiracy to leak.
We can only hope he lead a cover-up and committed perjury as well.

Stunning to see a history lesson in the making if it weren't so frightening. The Republican party is a case study in how democracies die.
