Why hasn't Novak been charged?
Why is he skating away from all of this and no one is on his tail about it?

I see everyone else he's been in contact with being pelted with accusations and grand jury indictments, but no one is looking at him or even in his direction. Why is that?

2. He pleaded the fifth other wise known as "The GOP holding pattern"...
They'll keep it in litigation until he's deemed too old to serve time, then he'll do community service and call himself "humanitarian".

Jerk.

3. Because he hasn't committed a crime
There is no law against (that I'm aware of) publishing classified info/ covert operative name. A journalist is not under the same legal restrictions that a government employee with top secret classified clearance releasing the info has. If he was honest to the Grand Jury he's completely not indictable.

6. You're right.
It isn't against the law for a journalist to publish the name of a "secret" agent, especially if he or she was given the name by a government offcial with the kind of authority like Rove or Libby.

Also, you can bet the farm that Novak will not be charged with perjury ... he squealed like a stuck pig and told everything he knew.

as Novak?

Is it because they haven't 'given up' people like Novak? And we don't really know that Novak gave up anything, being the Grand Jury is secret...

4. 2 possibilities
1. He was a target, and took the 5th. We'll have to wait until his trial to find out what he said.

2. He was not a target, and talked as fast as Bush with an eight-ball of marching powder. His answers could have been what led Fitzgerald's investigation to question the people that it did.

Cooper ended up talking so he stayed out of jail-- just like Novak did----
