Which I am not. OK, I'm agnostic. I've been talking recently with the only reasonable republican I know, one of my brothers-in-law. He is married to my Dem sister, and they are both born again Christians. This guy is actually NICE, and by the end of our conversation about politics, he agreed to take a look at whatever Clark info I send his way. That, in itself, shocked my sister, since they can't talk politics for a moment without having fireworks.
I know that he will never agree with some of Clark's views on social issues (choice, GLBT, etc.). However, I need to convice him that there are over-riding issues (war, integrity, etc.) that should make him decide, at least for this election, to mark the box for Clark.
I am putting together a video that includes "American Son," the first NH town hall meeting, and yesterday's awesome rally in NH (I like the focus on 'family values'). I also plan to send him some of the position papers (environ, 10 pledges, education, war).
I know, however, that I look at Clark and his positions from a different position than some of his Christian supporters. Do any of you have any specific recommendations for position papers, speeches that I might have on tape (I have a lot) or other information that might help me to convince this guy that Wesley Clark is the best man for the Presidency?
Just a bit more info - this guy's dad was a POW, they homeschool their kids, they are middle-class, they own a small business, and they are absolutely committed to their church!
I'd appreciate any help on this. This would be an ENORMOUS success if this guy would actually be willing to take his first look at the Democratic Party!
I'm going to be leaving for the day (to work at the campaign office), so I won't be able to reply to responses until tonight, but PLEASE help me out!
Thanks!
