The commission to look into tightening up leaks will do the job. Not because it will shut Fitzgerald up - but because it will force journalists to shut up and not report the story. They will be so terrified of loosing access to all their government sources they have built up over 30 years.

This is a huge threat to them - no?

Investigating and studying how to tighten up leaks and make it a criminal offense? A shot across the bow for journalists. Let us see how many of them fall pray to the fear shot directly at their hearts. How can journalists report if they no longer have any access to leakers? Look how willingly journalists took the heat (and were willing to go to court & jail) by not outing their sources in order that the system of leaks & sources is not compromised.
