I don't mean to point out the obvious but you do know we have elections... |
|
...come up in both 2005 and 2006. Mind worrying about 2008 when we get closer to the date.
Thanks

3. Seems like a grand waste of time. |
|
Hey, let's speculate on who'll be the nomination in 2016! That's, of course, assuming we even bother with elections by then.

|
Or which twin should run against Chelsea :sarcasm:

4. C'mon, we got three whole years to bash ourselves to death. |
|
Why would we worry about beating the Republicans when we have so little time left to destroy ourselves?

6. Thats what I have been saying. |
|
oh My God! We need to focus on the next elections an then worry about 2008. The way I see it there might not even be a 2008 election.

8. Great point, let's focus then on the 2006 elections and the DLC |
|
and NOT the 2008 presidential elections.

I can't even begin to think about 2008, I'm concerned about getting more Dems in office ASAP, and that means 2005 and 2006.
I haven't opened any of those threads, so I don't know what's going on. Are people speculating who's going to run? There's so much going on right now, I see those kind of posts as diversions.
Your post hopefully will wake up those who fall into the diversion trap.

13. So are the new "paper trail" Diebold machines ready yet? |
|
I'll bet a million bucks they aren't.
Seriously, does anyone know the status? I've heard nothing.

16. What good is a piece of paper if it just spews out the same lies as |
|
the nebulous electronic accounting?
We need transparency in the process and checks and balances along with those pieces of paper.

What's the staus on the transparency plan? Are our leaders spearheading the issue?
My point is that nothing is going to change in 06, and we're probably going to "lose" again if nothing is done.. and from what I can tell, nothing is being done to make the machines reliable and fair.

15. You're absolutely right, Lynne |

NJ and VA have gubernatorial races this year, for example. I hope people in those states are putting in a lot of effort now!
Thanks for stating this. I've tried a few times but it doesn't go over well.
Hope you're having a great summer.

If we don't talk about 2008 while working on 2005 and 2006 (which I agree is necessary), then the corporate media whores will have succeeded in sweeping their beloved Hillary to the presidency.
