The Terror Attacks Harmed the Democratic Party |
|
Once those planes hit the towers, any decent politician should have understood immediately that national security was now the main national issue. While we wept, the disgusting narcissists in the Bush White House quickly leaped on the opportunity to capitalize on this politically.
Screaming Democrats would only have put us farther in the hole. How would you have liked to have been a minority by a dozen more in the House? By more than 15 in the Senate.
There was nothing we could do but wait until the opportunity arose to start fighting and this pompous administration shot itself in the foot.
A poorly executed war in Iraq, based on lies, has awakened the average American to what truly exists in the White House and Congress.
2006 will be our opportunity to attack.

1. Screaming Democrats... |
|
might have made a huge difference to where we are now. It's a question of what we screamed and how many of us screamed it.
Remember, ** was at a low point before 9-11. Had we shown that his policies were not going to make us, or our allies safer, we might not have had to flop over on our backs and let him turn the US into a corporatist theocratic torture state.
Really, look at how the world regarded us in 2001, as compared to where we are now. That difference is all due to the ** administration, and our flaccid opposition.
Sure, it would not have been pretty, but believe me, it is not going to be pretty wresting power from the criminal hands of Cheney, et al.
