I am furious for John Kerry. I am praying that these folks will back off Howard Dean now. You know that Democrats for Life group that is putting on the pressure? The group that is going to reduce abortions so much? The group that opposes embryonic stem-cell research? The group that opposes abortion on overseas military bases?

Well, read this. The Florida Chapter not only refused to endorse Kerry, they stated they were ABK. How dare they do this, and then want special access.

I think we need to be on guard with them. Read this.

Edited because I do know how to spell "seem".

1. Send them packing.

Tell them to go devote their efforts to cleaning up the Republican party, where they belong.

This is unbelievable. And the national group is pressuring Howard and said these things about Kerry? I won't even put the title.

"I have been accused by more than one Kerry Democrat of being mean-spirited when I refer to John Kerry as the “Hitler of the Unborn.” I don’t use those words lightly. I have carefully considered his voting record on the life issues. I have listened carefully about the promises he intends to keep to Planned Parenthood, NOW, NARAL, and EMILY’s List. Kerry Democrats would have us believe that abortions will continue to drop under Kerry’s administration, but logic tells me that when he revokes the Mexico City Policy with his first promised Executive Order, millions of abortions will occur worldwide through the use of American tax dollars. I see clear parallels between Adolf Hitler’s master plan and John Kerry’s moral relativism concerning the value of human life. Therefore, I feel this image of Kerry as the new “Adolph Hitler” is justified."

4. Huh? What are you talking about?
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 10:41 PM by Lecky
They are bashing Democrats just like we all do! Wow, and it's Kerry too, I'm sure a lot of you guys will have something in common. Seems they will fit in just fine. :eyes:

Also, what do you suppose we do with these "horrible" pro-lifers who consider themselves Democrats? Unless they are morons they know the majority of Democrats are pro-choice. It will be tough for them to find a Dem who is not pro-choice.

Do you want to run them out of the party or something? lol

6. You do not get the point. You are not understanding.
It is quite simple. The Florida Chapter of this group went against Kerry, and it makes me livid.

Sorry you take it so lightly.

I am upset for Kerry's sake, as this was very wrong. This group may be a trojan horse, really.

10. I am not surprised by that
I am just surprised that the Congress leadership insisted for Dean to meet with these people (at least at the national level).

Cant they see these guys will never endorse a Democrat that would be pro-choice.

8. Meetings with Howard Dean this week. Endorsed by Reid, Pelosi.
Something is wrong with this picture. Some folks are checking out to see if more of the state chapters did this.

This is very wrong.

11. Of course something is very wrong.
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 10:52 PM by Cascadian
I have noticed this since last year's primaries. The way Howard Dean was dragged down and the sudden resurgance of John Kerry. I think that certain "Democrats" are now going after Dean AGAIN! The encouraging thing is that people are finally waking up and realizing that something stinks within the Democratic Party and it must be dealt with. I hope it's not too late to do something about it.

12. None of the Democrats for Life endorsed Kerry last year.
Yet they are wanting the ear of the party. Yes, my assessment was fair...trojan horse.

http://thewitness.org/article.php?id=904

As recently as six months ago, though, DFL members began to see signs of change. At the Boston Democratic Convention last summer, DFL elicited a promise from then-DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe that their representatives would not be banned from the podium. Moreover, Rep. James Langovin, of Rhode Island, who is a DFL National Advisory Board member, was invited to introduce Ron Reagan's address at the party convention, one of the most high-profile slots of the entire meeting. Yet, even that step forward was ambiguous, as Reagan spoke in defense of stem cell research, which DFL opposes.

"Democrats for Life did not endorse Kerry in the presidential election, and it found little to support in the party platform. Nonetheless, DFL leaders were pleased with the 2004 convention because they felt they gained a bit more respect. DFL also held a public rally at the national convention that, they believe, helped increase their visibility.

"The convention was a huge success," Day explained, "just in terms of the number of people who didn't know that there were pro-life Democrats and now do know about us."

And Demos for life also oppose stem cell research.
